Thank you for this upload. 1979 one of the best years musically of the 1970s (still getting to know that decade. Some classics in both charts. I like how everyone regardless of style had a chance. Ballads, pop music, ska, rock, disco, country (in the case of the Americans) and soul plus the emergence of new wave and electro. The Jam amazing group 'Angel Eyes' lovely pop song. Flying Lizards 'Money' one of the best one hit wonders. Perhaps my favourite on the lists I do love the music of Roxy Music. One of Cliffie's better later on singles at #1 here.

What a blast from the past! I was 19 years young, working for a cinema film distribution company and living in a bedsit. Occasionally ventured out to paint the town red. I remember dancing at the Disco to Anita Wards hit You can Ring my bell. I also liked the British Ska revival, and the Specials were top of my list. Cliff Richard was popular again with another number one. What memories. I'm now 62, and live a very quiet life now.

I remember lots of those, certainly almost all the UK top 20! I didn’t remember the song by The Jam, but the rest of the UK charts I remembered. I was 6 at the time and already into music!
