Thank you for this video. An interesting insight within the 2000s. Alien Ant Farm just came and disappeared. I was amazed how 'Sunny' became a Top 10 hit here in the UK as I found it a very weak cover / sample of the Boney M song. Infernal just disappeared as soon as they arrived. Iyaz. the song always sounded to me 'Chinese like a melody in my head' Kristian Leontiou should have been huge. Great album, cute guy and great songwriter. He did have some very minor success as One Eskimo in 2009 but they weren't a hit. That's talent Little Boots is active albeit not commercial. Her last album released in early 2022 is decent. Better than 90 per cent of the stuff in UK charts. Is it me or does the Owl City / Carly Rae duet scream badly sang and performed live. September did have a minor hit with Satellite'. Stacey Orrico the guy in the first video was her cousin, and in a gay film I saw (no it was a romance film, not a rude one. Decent actor he is.

With rock musicians I don't really think the Hot 100 is the best representation of their popularity, Cause a lot of the genre's biggest hits don't even chart on it. (Think Godsmack, Slipknot, Korn, Deftones)
Puddle Of Mudd may have only had two songs in the Top 40, But their other songs Away From Me, Famous, Drift and Die, and especially Psycho and Control are still hits. Those last two especially were some of the most played rock songs of the decade.
With bands like Trapt I get it cause nobody remembers their other hits, But Puddle Of Mudd has three hits at the very least.

Although Alien Ant Farm and Puddle of Mudd hv more than two hits (AAF with Wish - those playing the Tony Hawk game; and PoM with Control - the theme song of WWE Survivor Series 2001, I hv to admit that I once again enjoy this compilation. I dare to say that some of these songs are also played on Malaysian radio stations, Replay and Good Girls Gone Bad among them.
And yeah, those following WWE during its Ruthless Aggression era will also remember Finger Eleven as the band behind Kane's entrance theme.

reply

As someone watching this in Canada, this is mostly I know both of these songs or I know NEITHER of these songs, with a few instances of knowing only the bigger hit. Love this series though! Unfortunately, you can't really continue because it's too early to know if any 2010 artists will get a second hit yet.
(Sidenote: in Canada Finger Eleven would have had some other hits, although looking at chart history Above wasn't nearly as big as I remembered it being)

Some disclaimers:
- Stacie Orrico only had two US hits but had five top 40 hits in the UK.
- Satellites by September was a hit in European countries but only hit #96 in the UK.
- Puddle Of Mudd had a third top 20 hit in the UK with Control.
- Modjo's third single What I Mean only hit #59 in the UK but was a top 20 hit Spain and Switzerland.

Stacie Orrico had 3 number ones in the CCM radio stations before her mainstream success: With A Little Faith, Without Love and Don't Look At Me.
I Promise, I Could Be The One and I'm Not Missing You were not big hits but they charted in some European countries.

reply

Both Stacie Orrico & Switchfoot crossed over from the Christian Contemporary Music world. They each had hits in that world before their mainstream hits (and I think Switchfoot may have had a couple of hits back in the CCM world after their mainstream success.

1: 40 through 1: 48 There's another 2004 song in this first month of 2024 turning 20 years old. I'll be turning 17 when I was younger. Story of My Life and Shining are both exactly the same of europeans in the US and UK songs in the real life.
reply

I think Wheatus and Vertical Horizon didn't get the enough credit when they came out. Their albums are quite good and i still listen to til this day. And also Modjo's Lady is the first track that i listen when i am on a Highway.
reply

3: 44 I notice the Switchfoot song when in the final year in the 170 Songs That Turn into 20 Years Old in 2024 video coming out on January 2024. Man, great kind of 2004 songs, it came across the lines of european but almost 2004 yet.
reply

3: 01 I do not know as the 2 O-Zone songs between the difference of the 2004 songs but came back in 2003. This is why the song of Dragostea Din Tel album always turns into other and second O-Zone song of 20 years old in 2024.
reply

1: 04 I notice the third 2004 song, too. Although, there's maybe a 2024 turning years old to consider more 2004 songs. And you know what From Paris to Berlin albuming in 2004 may be the worst, but so then.
reply

Vanessa Carlton no two hit wonder!
He has a few more songs! For example, the top lists featured well Counting Craws Big Yellow Taxi and a solo song back in 2008 called Hands on me

reply

Another itneresting 2-hit wonder of that era would be the band 'A' does anyone remember them They were pretty neat, then they seemed to have dissapeared of the earth.
reply

Why didn't you include Bodyrockers They were two-hit wonders really. They had two hit singles I Like the Way You Move and Round and Round (both in 2005.
reply

If your just ripping off older hits, that shouldn't count. Especially if your Boogie Pimps doing Bobby Hebb and Jefferson Airplane such a injustice.
reply

This list left out my favorite Kevin Rudolph song Welcome To The World.
Also Puddle of Mudd’s 1st hit was Control so technically a 3-hit band.

reply

You know what, thanks for doing this. There's so many little gems that were lying just at the edge of my mind that I'd completely forgotten about.
reply

The mid - late 2000s really sucked. That's when the record execs decided that dance/techno sound HAD to be on everything especially R&B/Pop
reply

Some of the artists that have featured on these 2 hit list I think would appear on a list of one album wonders if you did that by decade.
reply

0: 24 This makes no responds of 2004. I'm secretly having myself for the Boogie Pimps song of Sunny turning 20 in 2024. But not eventually.
reply

For Cobra Starship I thought Guilty Pleasure and Snakes on a Plane were big hits for them. I don't think they're two hit wonders.
reply

Interesting to see how many of them basically tried recreating the first hit. :o Respectively how many 2nd hits are basically the same.
reply

Psycho and Famous by Puddle of Mud were also hits.
White Houses and Nolita Fairytale by Vanessa Carlton also made the top 40.

reply

Rashni might also be a Two-Hit Wonder in the 2000's: his first hit was My Name Is Rashni (2008, his second was Baboushka.
reply

I can't believe how many of these songs I forgot about. I remember hearing some of these during my college/university years.
reply

Great list! I never knew about some of these other hits from these artists, but that’s really cool. Keep it up, SRG!
reply

Thanks so much for sharing. I had only heard of one song from many of these acts, and wasn't even aware of the other hit!
reply

I remember a few of these. Keep up the good work. My friends laugh when I say you have lists of Two-Hit Wonders.
reply

Is it possible to be a 3-hit wonder I figure after 3 hits it's insulting to call an artist a wonder.
