Woman's Boyfriend Tries To Win Over Her Possessive Bird Soulmates That is the same color cockatiel I have. But he really hates me. He is not used to hands at all and I have cats so we cant let him out anymore. He use to fly around the house before when we had our other cats but they never bothered him. We have had him for almost 6 years or 7 something like that. He knows when he needs new seed because he will start chirping at me from the back room.

I hear cats will do the same thing; when the exams come, I hear they will lie down on laptops to make you type gibberish into your essays and/or taking your X account for a joyride and getting you canceled for accidentally posting a tweet with inane letters that the twisted mind of a 14-yo white girl could vaguely piece together as the n-word, because they fear losing you

Dusty is an adorable little stinker. When he feigned injury I was surprised. Growing up I had a dog that did this once in a while. She just wanted attention. Hopefully these two have since gotten closer. The boyfriend was smart to keep his hands to himself and let Dusty initiate contact. I’m wondering if offering his favorite treats would have helped any.

These women who price an animal more than their man are not worth the pain, they don't deserve a man. Let them be and get a woman who values a man more than some exotic animal, there is no shortage of such women, but it's the man's mistake that he wags his tail for this creature of a woman shown here, instead of finding someone who values him.

The reason he’s attached to her and her only is his wings are clipped. That’s like removing a dogs legs and saying he’s attached to meWell yeah, bc it’s his only decent option. Let your bird fly and they’ll actually love you and be comfortable with other people without their only survival defense removed.

she butchered his tail feathers. i will never understand why people do that to birds. i can sort of understand flight feathers, but tail feathers come on. the ability of a bird to fly being removed, is like a humans legs being removed. its cruel

I wish them the best of luck in thier relationship
but in the case of a hard breakup, shes kinda boned since the bird will just continue to wistle the songs her then ex friend has taught him.
This would really suck

How did you get your cockatiel to warm up to you. Do you have any tips I've had my pet cockatiel since I was 16 years old and it's been really hard to get her to allow me to hold her and pet her
reply

Tbf i dont think hes faking an injury. I think he was tensing his wings up too much and got a cramp. Same thing happens for my lovebird whenever they try to attack smt or defend themselves.

When he started talking his language, he thought. mmm, this human can entertain me from time to time. OK I will tolerate him around. but I will be watching you, HUMAN!

I love this story but it's sad for me to see him with all of his tail feathers cut off as a person that has a parrot that can fly and has all her tail feathers

Took my sisters bird three years to feel comfortable around men with beards and bald. lol my dad. He landed on his head the other day and we all freaked out

This is how you know a person is a keeper. They realize they must get your pets love and approval. An they do what ever they can to do so. : )

I think if she says the bird is priority one and not you, that you should let her grow old with the bird and leave instead to settle for second place.

They can really bite hard. Often bond only to one person. He persisted and good for him. I wonder if she can see it from his point of view

Her Dusty is just like our Rio. He was supposed to be mine, but he really took to my husband. Thats ok because the girls are mommas' girls.

What a stinker. About right for a tiel, they are so full of themselves. Love them though. Miss mine that passed away a few years ago.

I have a male Cockatiel that I raised from 14 days old. ultra tame today, but not quite the guardian. He turns 3 this year.

It is a sad state of affairs when you mutilate the flight feathers to keep the bird on the ground. Grow out those feathers!
reply

He's a good dude, anyone who would put so much effort into getting their girlfriend's pet to accept them is a keeper.
reply

I wonder why he has no tail
As a Quaker parrot owner, and soon to be also Indian ringneck owner; this is adorable!

reply

Bird usually only imprint on one or two people so it makes sense it took some time for him to warm up to her boyfriend
reply

Cute when it’s a little bird but I have a parrot and his bites are not cute whatsoever. He could take a finger off
reply

Hopefully hes not nervous about the family because they dont bite. lolol who knows if they do or not lolol
reply

I just love how he occasionally still reminds the boyfriend that HE'S the boss and ruler of the house!
reply

I have a male cockatiel who is pretty vicious and is always ready to bite unless I whistle to him as well.
reply

I love how proud Dusty look when he actually show Kerri hoe he was able to mikic Ryan's whistle so cute
reply

I wouldn't have cared if the bird liked me or not dude acting like it was a hawk or something
reply

What a cutie!
I get jealous but I’m afraid I can’t give a bird the time it deserves

reply

to have to go thru all that extra stuff just to date someone is unnecessary and not worth it

reply
