Betta fish learned to jump through hoops! His mom, our producer Carolina, talked to the guy who started the whole fish training craze. His goldfish is the Guinness World Record holder for most fish tricks! I had 3 goldfish - each with its special personality: One timid, one greedy with food and the third one very playfull and curious! He used to surf in the filter stream on the water surface, swim through tiny rings and follow me when I was near the tank. very sadly he always wanted to get out of that tank and found the little air gap in the cover glass where he jumped out. I had to rescue him several times from the floor until one day he was out too long. I loved this fish: (

I never would have guessed that little fish like that could do tricks. Or even be taught to do tricks. But that's pretty cool
I had four goldfish that I transferred from a medium sized bowl into a full-sized aquarium and where I had them located they could see the tv. And when the old old old old episodes of Roseanne came on, they would all line up at the corner of the aquarium and they would watch a full episode of Roseanne for a half hour. They wouldn't do it for any other show I don't know why that maybe it was colorful. But that was those goldfish and they were named Ricky Lucy Fred and Ethel

It is amazing to think about, but this is proof to people who say oh it’s just a fish. It doesn’t matter when it lives in they don’t care. Yes they do because they are smart and intelligent just because their intelligence level isn’t quite as high as ours doesn’t mean, they can’t learn to do things, or know that their environment is really crappy, my beta fish used to know how to do a ton of tricks. And he loved doing it

The best fish story was on a Craigslist favorites list. Guy walks into the pet shop and asks for the worst off fish they have. Its a beta fish thats sickly that just exists. He buys and applies the meds and visits and talks to the fish. His color comes back and the fish is so excited to see the guy who seeks to make this sole fish happy.
Too bad we dont even treat each other this way. So many lessons to learn from this!

For some reason this didn't surprise me at all but I was very delighted. You get to work at the dodo!
I do believe that fish swim around and seem content but that they are trainable and like all of us working our brains and our muscles and specific way is very rewarding thank you for this video

Great video, but having read the incredible, bestselling book What a Fish Knows, by the biologist Jonathan Balcombe, which goes through all the scientific evidence about the intellectual and emotional complexity of fish, seeing them behaving in this way didn't surprise me in the least!

New studies show fish remember faces for at least 5 years, show affection, and can learn tricks - there is a guy out there who taught his goldfish foosball from a custom tank he made.
They all have sentience, and we should be doing better by them.

I used to have my goldfish trained (I was just a barely trained kid, myself. according to my parents) by flashing a flashlight on and off, during feedings.
Less and less food rewards, and soon the fish didn't need a food reward.

Human are so full of themselves that they have to dismis intelligence of other species and act surprised whenever other animals are just themselves, highly intelligent and determined to survive in a dangerous world.

Thank you for the update, The Dodo! This video inspires and brilliantly showcases the remarkable intelligence of fish, highlighting the boundless potential of our aquatic companions to amaze and entertain us!

Water or land animals are friends and not food, and it makes me proud to think maybe one day our oceans and streams will still be abundant with plants and animals for future generations

Maybe he can make a new kit for my turtle! He knows that I mean food and is always excited to see me. Well, even if it's not a feeding day, he still wants to be fed.
How fun! :)

I have a big oranda goldfish I named him fat boy because he’s also chunky. I’m tempted to train him now lol. I want my fat boy to become a futbol player, to be the next Messi.

I can understand why people don't do religion. but to say there is no Creator. all of this beauty and amazement just happened to be here All things want to be loved.

Fishes don't belong in aquariums for little wannabes developed humans to play with. They belong in the nature. Aquariums are nothing but water prisons

I think this is the first video I have watched about fish tricks, very good and very interesting. I knew fish could sense things but not like this.

My daughter had a gold fish. But He only did tricks with me. My daughter was so upset her gold fish did not really play with her but only with me

When we basically destroyed most of earth ecosystems we finally figure out, oh wait! Most animals are way smarter then we thought! And they feel!

I once had a betta named Ezekiel who would jump for food and play a version of hide-and-seek with me. I loved that little guy so much!
