Hailee Steinfeld visits the Bon Apptit Test Kitchen to make pomme souffl with Carla Music. Can she follow along using verbal instructions only? Dickinson is streaming exclusively on AppleTV+ HueManateee: Carla is so awesome. She was so certain that her directions for positioning the potato were perfectly clear and that any idiot should understand what she means. Not sure how many times I've done similar in my life. Nothing finer than walking confidently without a glance over the shoulder. This series should be made into a TV show.

hailee did great. clearly she isnt used to cooking (which is completely fine because not everyone has the same experiences) but even so her product came out amazing. I think carla has a specific way of describing things that can be hard to understand if you cant visually see what shes talking about but over all I really enjoyed this episode. even if it was a little anxiety inducing to watch lol

Poor thing. You can tell she doesn't have a lot of cooking experience, and she was super nervous in the kitchen. I think if she wasn't doubting herself so much she would have had an easier time. Not everyone has parents who cook or teach their kids to cook. So many people in the comments need to remember that.

I'm laughing so hard but I'm actually like Hailey when I take verbal instructions too. I need a visual always, but bc of that I've learned to ask specific questions to clarify. I think that would've helped Hailey's process a little quicker. Hats off to her for admitting when she was confused at the instructions.

Everyone saying Carla's instructions are unclear? I don't think so, she was clear, Hailey just misheard her and then didn't understand some things, maybe due to a lack of cooking knowledge or maybe due to her mind being somewhere else. She did well minus the peels and not knowing what golden brown is.

Carla is not great w instructions. wide side. wth, even i wouldnt know what that means. Needs to be more descriptive and basic. esp after knowing she put the peels in the water vs the spud, Long ends top to bottom. Napkin basket? Just say a pouch. The poor girl prob can't even make packaged ramen.

Having watched all of these, I think Ive identified a pattern - the less instruments and more food-related instructions, and the more experience a celeb has with cooking (think Eric Stonestreet, the better the celeb will handle themselves. Like, Hailee could 100% have followed Al Rokers dish, Id bet.

You have the bravery of 1, 000 Frenchmen. Carla, you know the French have never won a war, right? The only French victory recorded in history is their own revolution. How about, you have the bravery of 1 Marine? That's more accurate and flattering.

I like that she struggled. It shows me that she's human in a very humble way. These days the only time you realize a celebrity is not as perfect as they appear, is when there's a potentially reputation ruining scandal doing the rounds.

Pomme means apple. Pomme de terre is potato, woah I never knew my primary - y9 french lessons taught me something. Considering i learnt basically nothing and took higher German and Latin for GCSEs instead. yes I took a double language.
