The Best Brownies

Everyone who posts a brownie recipe online claims that theirs is the best, and in keeping with that time honored traditional, I will do the same. These really are the best brownies. And I m sure you ll agree when you make them, just as long as we re talking about fudgy brownies. If you prefer cake-like brownies, you came to the wrong place. jus4funtim: In my opinion in order to be The Best brownies you need to replace three Tablespoons of the regular butter with three Tablespoons of canna butter. It's also a good idea to make a regular batch at the same time in order to satisfy the munchies you'll experience in about an hour or so. Happy Cooking

I was expecting the ole tapa tapa until you said you forgot! And, that means you didn't remember what you forgot! You're forgiven, Chef John: ) especially since you did the, around the outside, around outside +. fork don't lie! Love the indented the glassware!

My mother used to make these, out of a 1970s Charlie Brown cookbook. I remember the unsweetened chocolate and the lack of baking powder or baking soda. They were indeed the best brownies ever, and now I can see a batch in my near future. thank you chef John!

BEWARE! When I went to allrecipes to get the full recipe, I accepted their invitation to have the recipe mailed to my email address. I am now being bombarded with promotional emails from them for everything under the sun EXCEPT the bloody recipe I requested!

you, sir, just shown us the exact recipe of the favorite dessert of my grand-dad: the best chocolate cake in the world as he called it long time ago, and it was awesome! thank you for bringing back memories and i will try to do it myself for sure

YES! That chewy, tacky, taffy-like brownie edge. My favorite! I just never know how to actually make that. This recipe is definitely going into my 'to cook' file. Chef John better be right about these being the best. ;-) hahaha

Have to disagree with you on one point Chef John: the best temperature for a brownie is when it has cooled just enough that it doesn't burn the roof of your mouth off when you eat it.

I just finished mine and they're pretty great! I only had salted butter though and I think I didn't subtract enough salt form the recipe, but I'm excited to try it again.

I always wondered why he never used an electric hand mixer. Just as easy to clean as a whisk (or even easier if your whisk doesn't fit in the dishwasher) but so much less work
