We actually ran out of time on the build so I shoved the thermometer from our Lang cooker into the side of this one to make sure the temperature was right. If I was you, I'd drill a whole right in the middle of the door and insert the thermometer there.

Did you guys burn a big fire in it, to burn out any gas or oil that may be embedded in the metal? When using reconstituted metal, tanks especially, you should get it basically red hot for 12-24 hours to make it food sanitary.

wondering about the thermometer your have there. Where is it placed? In some scenes it looks like its around the right hand handle. others I can't see it. Any help? I'd like to build something like this,

You took the concept and went way overboard with it. Funny, but. Also, the meat looked super burned. I know it is the barque but it really looked bad.
