My pantry is ridiculously well stocked - I could probably cook some version of anything at any time. I count my fridge as part of my pantry. I would add fermented foods such as kimchi, sauerkraut and a sourdough mother to make bread. In addition to what you have mentioned I must also have sriracha, oyster sauce, onions (all kinds, dashi powder, various types of salts and seaweed seasoning for noodle and rice dishes. Also anchovies, olives and capers. Home canned tomatoes. Lemons and garlic are essential. I could go on and on about essential herbs and spices. . What else. sesame oil. And really good balsamic vinegar - the thick aged ones. And coconut milk. Bon appetit.

I keep an insanely well-stocked pantry (and fridge and freezer chest) - no worries about unexpected guests or meals on the fly here! Besides what you've shown, I'd add coconut milk, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, capers, lemon and lime juice, hot sauces, liquid smoke, various mustards, tomato products (paste, tinned, stock, demi glace, a good assortment of herbs, seasonings and spices, fish and black bean sauces, dry yeast, corn meal, maple syrup, various honeys, molasses, tinned legumes, dried mushrooms, nuts and seeds, dried fruits, etc, etc.

I always keep my shelves well stocked with a variety of goods. I have an entire cabinet of spices alone. I also like to have jars of olives, tins of sardines and anchovies, several types of hot sauces. Having a well stocked pantry means I can make chicken any number of ways since I buy it in bulk. I think something you didn't mention was baking goods, powder, soda, vanilla, various types of sugars. I like to be able to whip up some quick muffins, without having to go to the store for extras.

Nice tips. However, depending on the climate where You live, you may find out that the little black creatures may develop in flour based products and grains, so it is best to keep these in the vegetable drawer/ compartment of your fridge. This well ensure them a longer life, free of bugs.

I always have black sesame seeds and sesame oil to enjoy on rice noodles. I love canned refried beans for a speedy dinner with rice, or tortillas and some veg. And finally I love having jarred marinated artichokes on hand, they're a delicious addition to pasta or veggie salads: )

Remember to store tinned food in another container and not to put the half empty tin can in the fridge. I've done the same got loads of spices and grown my own herbs and veg etc soy sauce love it and pasta is superb as long as you keep it in an air tight container.

I would recommend people also check out pre cooked rice you can get whole grain pre cooked rice too for super cheap and it cooks in 2 minutes. So as a student when I'm tired and broke pre cooked rice is my go to starch.
