The written recipe is here: Let's make Korean baek kimchi! Non-spicy and vegetarian kimchi! michael: LOL I did find one Nappa Cabbage that was just under 1/2 lb. Perfect for me since space is limited & I dont have the vessels or bowls yet to do a large on & because my Kimchi making is getting better with each new batch & the variations of vegetables traditional & non traditional I think its important to invest some money & buy a good crock & wide mouth fermentation jars because i want to produce other ferments aside from kimchi so I have a variety of ferments. Tonight I finally got a batch that was absolutely perfect & have a wonderful balance of sour & spicy & partly sweet due to the pear I added to it. This white Kimchi would be nice to try also, next time I am gonna leave the Kimchi on the counter 5 days & check it daily there after for a total of 8 day ferment them place it in the fridge, but the longer on the counter the better the sour is. I love the texture & complex flavours Pear adds to this so I may try another fruit such as a sour apple or a super sweet one. or even plums which I Absolutely Love. I am so grateful for people like you Maangchi for taking the time to teach folks with your videos how to make your traditional foods that are so healthy for us, they really help me expand my healthy foods menu & better health as a result: )

thank you for this recipe. Ever since falling in love with K-pop, I wanted to know what my favorite idols eat. When I heard they eat kimchi, I was afraid to eat it because I can't handle spicy food even though I'm from a Mexican family. When I found this recipe I was happy because now I can enjoy kimchi without worrying about burning my mouth. Thank you Maangchi!

Dear Maangchi,
I love kimchi but i never tried white kimchi. I want to try this is it ok to use singkamas instead of korean raddish? We dont have korean raddish in our market but we have here our local raddish. It looks like a carrots. Which one should i replace a korean raddish? Our local raddish or singkamas?

I just realized that my grandma used to make white kimchi when I was little. We're not even Korean, but I guess we had some Korean influence from where I came from. Thank you for the video and for bringing back good memories! I'm gonna try and make this soon!

This recipe is exactly what I've been looking for. I've just gotten into Korean cooking and I LOVE kimchi! I eat it every day. But I was looking for a recipe for one that's not spicy. I can't wait to make this! Thank you so much!

Oh yum, I just found korean hot pepper flakes, so as I can make kimchi, now I found, this kimchi recipe, I think I'll have to buy a new kimchi container, can't decide which to make, I'll just make both.

Maangchi, thanks your receipt. I have made this very delicious kimchi! Would like to know when ate all kimchi the source left can reuse to add in new kimchi?

Instead of pear can I a different fruit like an apple because pear is a bit costly in my area.
Or not up to standard, bad pears
