I made this coleslaw recipe a few days ago with a few adjustments to your recipe and it was fabulous! I'm sharing my adjustments with you and others for those that might can use them to make it easier and a bit healthier. I used a bag of cole slaw shredded cabbage and carrot the store brand. I used for the first time in my life a sugar substitute because I am now diabetic as of recent. I used 3 packets of Stevia in place of your 3 tablespoons of sugar. Didn't want to use 3 tablespoons of Stevia because it is supposed to be sweeter than regular sugar and what I used was just fine. no funky taste to the Stevia like most sugar substitutes. I never buy buttermilk. An old trick to make buttermilk is to put 1 tablespoon of lemon juice in your measuring cup and then add the amount of milk you need for your recipe that calls for buttermilk and stir. You now have homemade buttermilk. So, I used 1 cup of 2% milk with my 1 tablespoon of lemon juice already in that cup. This method uses the 1 tablespoon of lemon juice that you call for in the recipe and the 1/2 cup of milk and 1/2 cup of buttermilk. but. a lot less fat because you did not use regular buttermilk. Instead of fresh minced onion, I used 2 teaspoons of chopped onions that come in the spice jars that are dehydrated. They will hydrate while sitting for 12 to 24 hours in the fridge. I also added a sprinkle of celery seed because I have to have that in my coleslaw. This coleslaw was wonderful! Thank you for the recipe!

There are much better recipes. Cut 1 red cabbage into good length pieces. Start preparing the sauce In a bowl. Take 3-5 tablespoons of mayonnaise then put in 1-2 dl of creme fraiche then put in 1 tablespoon of sugar for sweetness, after that take a pinch of salt and put it in the mix of the mayo and creme fraiche. Then take your cabbage and put it in the bowl with the sauce, mix it up well and then after that add a teaspoon of oil and start mixing again after mixing for 10-15 seconds it should be ready.

The meat industry is overfeeding the animals & they are producing too much poop & CO2, more than US transportation emissions. Their poop goes into health food farms. Reduce your meat consumption by 50%. The Romaine farms dont want to lose money, so they want us to buy it & toss it. The Recall is in the whole US & Canada. Save your receipts, go back to the store & get a refund or in-store credit. Let s start out own Gardens.

I always wonder about the people who disliked certain videos. Like, what did they not like here? It's a quick and easy recipe that is fantastic. Is it perfectionists angry about onion overuse? Is it KFC shills paid to dislike? Is it the Anti-Cabbage Coalition, back at it again? Who can say? Thank you for your help in pleasing my in-laws with a delicious recipe.

Really good recipe, but I modified it a little. I used a 14 oz Dole pre shredded package for coleslaw, but used only 1/2 cup buttermilk, and no milk, added 1/8 tea each of horseradish and fine red pepper flakes. The sugar I started out with 2 Tbs and added to taste, then added the cabbage, Has a sweetness with a hint of a kick.

I make mine WAY different. just let the cole/ carrot sit for 3 hours in white wine vinegar and at the same time make my dressing (mayo, sugar, pepper and salt to taste) let them both sit. take carot/cole out of vinegar. Let sit for 30 minutes. And then add to dressing bowl. so yummie. i will try your recipe.

I like the way you work, exactly like I do also, I don't waste anything scraping thoroughly. I make coleslaw very similar but usually swap your amounts of mayo and milk and didn't think of putting in fresh lemon juice or onion powder or letting it settle overnight. Am going to try this. Thanks

Tedra.
KFC has the best cole slaw. Back in the day, Mrs. Winners had the best coleslaw and baked beans along with their tater tots! That was in the 70's and early 80's. I wish they could bring them back like it used to be.
