Here is a great recipe idea for tender Mongolian beef. This stir-fry is perfect for dinner or lunch meal prep for the work week. This is gonna be good! Ingredients 1 1/2 lbs ribeye beef steak 1 large egg 1 Tbsp Shaoxing cooking wine 1 Tbsp soy sauce 1/2 tsp onion powder 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp salt 1/4 tsp black pepper 1/3 cup cornstarch 1 tsp baking soda 3 scallions SAUCE 1/2 cup beef broth 2 Tbsp Hoisin sauce 1 Tbsp soy sauce 1 Tbsp Shaoxing cooking wine 1 1/2 tsp sugar 2 Tbsp cornstarch 2 tsp dark soy sauce (optional)

Looks very delicious. But. does it come out velvety tender like at restaurants? I've tried it like this, but I still can't seem to get that soft, melt in your mouth, tenderness. I tried adding more baking soda, since that's what tenderizess it, but it ends up getting a fishy aftertaste.
The extra cornstarch sauce is a great idea. I love pouring the remaining sauce on my white rice.

Any adjustments you'd make to do this with chicken? Thank you! Our local Chinese 'buffet' adds a pinch of red pepper flakes & serves over rice noodles. SO good. but your looks healthier.

Please don't get mad, but all the Chinese take out joints here have Mexican cooks. I can't see them but the Mariachi band music coming from the kitchen kinda gives it away.
