Welcome to the Sahara desert of Morocco, home to incredible people, culture, and unique food. Today we’re going on a Sahara Moroccan food tour to eat some of the most prized regional delicacies. Family home lunch - First we were invited to a local family home to prepare a delicacy of stuffed pigeons, filled with a mixture of scrambled eggs, kofta, and spices. The pigeons were roasted in the oven until golden crispy. I couldn’t believe how tasty they were - one of the best and most unique meals in Morocco! Rissani Bazaar - Rissani is a small but bustling town when it’s market day, and we arrived prime time to see all the action. We headed into the bazaar to buy meat and spices to make a food speciality called medfouna - which is a Moroccan stuffed flatbread filled with meat, spices, and nuts. We took the meat mixture to the baker where they prepared this incredible delicacy. After drinking some fresh camel milk, and taking an ATV ride we then headed to make another style, but more traditional medfouna baked in the sand. He added almost the same meat filling as the first, and then flattened it out and covered it in hot sand. A few minutes later, it came out - slightly burned - but after taking off the char, it was perfectly cooked, gooey on the inside and meaty on the inside. The camels’ shadows on the sand were so beautiful. Micah seemed pretty excited about the whole adventure! Mark, I’m curious about one thing. When they took the bread out of the sand, how did it not have sand clinging to it

_Assalam Alaikum Moroco! _ Always a soulful happiness penetrates deep into heart to watch the traditional discoveries from Arabic, Persian and Asian rich cultures. Mark, your Vlogs are always a treat to watch, because you explained the minute details with so much happiness and passion!
This is the great episode as I am already have a big attachment to the Arabic and Persian cultures but particularly with Morocco. I don't know why. maybe my ancestors migrated from Iraq to Marv, (now in Turkmenistan) and than to Ambala, India. After the divide of sub-continent, we settled in Pakistan and I was born at Karachi, which also famous for its food and you know that!
The cultures of small cities are still rich and always enjoyable to watch with you. Keep on doing the great work and keep sharing the fascinating cultures of the world!
Have you ever been to Turkmenistan I would love to see the people and culture there as well. I am following your Vlogs since your son was born. Great to see that he is growing and equally enjoying the trips with his mother!

I wish Muslim majority country would farm and use pork meat. I mean it’s one of the best tasting meats in the world and not eating it is like you’re missing out. Sure chicken and other meats are good too, but nothing like pork. No hate so don’t misunderstand my comment.

Only one thing I wish you guys would stop doing, don't bite your food over the plates if others will also eat from them, gross, stop letting the crumbs from your mouth fall unto the plates of food, that is disgusting!

You know i wish i felt the same. But weather it is Egypt, Israel, Morocco etc i am sick in tired of people claiming to be the original people. The word Morocco comes from the name moor and these were black people
