This is NOT the last day in the 2 weeks in Bangkok video travel guide series - still have one more day coming tomorrow (15 days in total. On Day 14 we started off eating at a famous Halal Thai restaurant in Bangkok and then went to a few attractions and rode a boat, and then finally we searched out and found one of the best versions of Pad Thai Ive ever had in Bangkok. 00: 28 Muslim Restaurant ) - Right in the heart of Bangrak in Bangkok is a famous halal restaurant called Muslim Restaurant ) that has been around for a very long time and is a pretty legendary restaurant. We first ate there for breakfast to start the day. The mataba gai, chicken stuffed roti was pretty good, but the best dish of the meal for me was the khao mok pae, which is goat biryani. The food at Muslim Restaurant ) is overall quite good and its a decent restaurant to eat at if youre looking for Thai halal food right in the heart of Bangkok at Bangrak / Silom. 6: 54 Baan Silapin ) - After having a delicious breakfast, we jumped into a taxi and rode over to Baan Silapin, which is also known at the Thai Artists House. Its a house and community area located along the canal on the Thonburi side of the river in Bangkok. Its kind of a touristy artistic place where you can go to walk around, enjoy the atmosphere of the canal side community and they also occasionally have traditional Thai puppet shows (however, things are changing there, so Im not sure if they will continue to offer Thai puppet shows in the future. In any case, its a nice place to walk around and explore and I had an iced coffee. While we were there, we saw a sign to rent a long tail boat, so we hired a longtail boat to take us on a tour around the canal in Bangkok and then eventually we came back out to the Chao Phraya river where the driver dropped us off at Wat Kalayanamitr ) temple - we wanted to get dropped there to explore another area of Bangkok. 10: 53 Santa Cruz Church ) and the Kudeejeen Community - One of the lesser visited areas of Bangkok, but one that has a lot of history is the area around Santa Cruz Church ) and whats known as the Kudeejeen Community. The area is home to a mix of Thai and Portuguese and Chinese and its an interesting area of Bangkok to walk around. we stopped at Thanusingha Bakery House ) for a famous snack Thai Portuguese snack made in the area, and then we walked over to the church as well. Then we headed back to Chatrium hotel. 15: 17 Pad Thai Soi Pradu ) - I have to first start off my saying that I dont eat pad Thai all that often when Im in Bangkok - not that I dont like it, but I like so many other dishes, so I dont get around to eating it all that often. But Ying told me we needed to check out, Pad Thai Soi Pradu, a Pad Thai restaurant in the Charoen Krung area of Bangkok. It was a bit of a challenging place to get to, and once we got there we found out they had already sold out of the main fresh shrimp Pad Thai. So I settled for the Pad Thai with dry shrimp. It turned out to be one of the best Pad Thai in Bangkok that Ive had in a long time - maybe ever? Anyway, the Pad Thai was exceptionally good, partly because of how it was stir fried to the point of it having an extraordinary smoky flavor. Day 14 was our final full day on this trip to Bangkok, and both meals were the highlight of the day for me

You may or may not like Marks expressions after hes taking a bite out of the food. But its completely mistaken to say that hes not genuine. Being Thai and living almost half my life in the US, I think Mark is not your average Westerner. He is extremely polite and not as blunt as what the western world would expect him to be. To me, I could tell from the first video I ever watch of him which dishes he likes and which he doesnt and I think most of the Asians (who grew up in Asia) could tell too. Hes polite and hes also respectful - he doesnt think that his view is the view all of us has to think and feel the same. Just want to say stop being so mean with the comments and maybe pay a little more attention. Good job, Mark

Mark Wiens live forever. I'd like to invite you to Iowa. We're not known for fabulous cuisine, but we do have a couple of things that might make the trip worth while. In late July and early August we have the best sweet corn that I've ever tasted. We grill it, boil it and even microwave it. We also have some of the best pork you've ever tried. One of our favorite cuts is called the Iowa cut, a one inch chop which is to die for. Anyways, if your travels take you out to Iowa, I would love to show you around.

I feel the need to apologize. a few weeks ago I wrote something along the lines of I didn't like your delicious face because it seemed ingenuine. I was wrong. 100% wrong. I have been watching your videos constantly for the past few days. I have always found your comentary wonderful and calming and informative. now I see how genuine your face is when you are enjoying something. I can see the subtle differences in when something is really good and just okay.

Among the top 3 food bloggers/vloggers on YouTube, viz, Mikey Chen, Trevor James and Mark Wiens, it seems mark is quite unhygienic at a personal level. Also, he has the most skewed sense of taste. He likes only sour and extreme spicy, doesn't like dessert at all and even for fresh food which has it's own juice, he will add chillies. It seems his taste buds are numb to every taste other than sourness and spiciness.

HI Mark, I hope to try all the places you mentioned in this video. You said that to get the Pad Thai Gung Sot, to call first but didn't leave the phone number. It took some doing but I was able to find the place on Google Maps but there was no phone number. Do you have it and would you share it?

Seems like some of the best places to eat are only open for just a few hours. One of my favorites is in Mahasarakham which has the best Pad Ka-Prao and Tom Yum I've ever had and is only open for a few hours in the morning. I can't wait because I'll be there in six days I always dig the vids
