Thiru Kumar, AKA the Dosa Man, has been running NY Dosas, a food cart in Greenwich Village's Washington Square Park, since 2001. His dosas-which are made from fermented rice and lentils, and stuffed with potatoes, vegetables and spicy sauces-have become an international phenomenon. Thiru grew up in Sri Lanka and learned to make South Indian recipes as a child. After he immigrated to the United States in the 90s, he made it his life's work to sell affordable, fresh and vegan dosas to NYU students, professors and other passerby's. #streetfoodicons #streetfood #munchies

I really felt so happy when I saw someone eating Dosa with their own hands. He was dipping the dosa in chutney and eating. And he definitely seems like a westerner. All others were eating it with spoon and forks. Thats not the right way to do it. When you eating food from different part of world, we ought to respect their culture. Its not just food. Its like embracing a new culture. Well, thats just my opinion. No offence to anyone

The one who is a follower of Shiva will be calm and very generous and you can see that here. --We have learned lots of things from Hindu gods. Remember, Hinduism is not about praising god blindly, its a way of life. --Be calm, love and respect others and keep doing good for others without expecting. that's Hinduism

This guy is a pure legend. From escaping war in his country to becoming a legend in NYC, which is one of the hardest places to make it, is incredible. I just found a new inspiration. Hope he's still in NYC whenever i get the chance to go there.
