I remember Going into Michoacan Mexico as a Kid, going to a taco spot Asking for the Asada - Burrito, like in the States. they laughed at me, and Looked at my mom and said -what is that? - Never felt so dumb in my life, but What did they Expect from a Chicano? This was back in 2005 or so! Im sure then know what a Burrito is now.

I remember Braceros making burritos more than 65 years ago. Only, back then, everything was called a -taco-. Anything that could be wrapped in a tortilla was a taco. Much like us gringos called anything between slices of bread, a sandwich.

The Mission burrito, which is the typical popular burrito was invented at La Cumbre on Valencia Street by 15th in San Francisco. --Their tacos and burritos are superb. I recomend the carnitas and carne asada, con todos, y ceso.

Crazy
The 'birthplace of the burrito' is everywhere in the world. A burrito is just unleavened bread with some beans and spices and meats wrapped in it. and that has been made around the world for thousands of years.

Why do they keep translating -guisado- as a casserole when they are stewed meat dishes? Guillermo's rating system for burritos using -Juangas- is genius!
