Is Deep Dish really pizza? We're making this chicago-style recipe so let's find out. 78LedHead: I adore Sam, but if I'm honest, not one of his best ideas. and that's ok. You can't be a genius 24/7. Having said that, it might taste delicious, but I'm shocked Max allowed this, it's so. uneasy. on the eyes. He would've been MUCH better served taking the time and doing a more traditional deep dish with the crispy crust, some green peppers, mushrooms, onions. Just me being honest. Not trying to be a D.

Please, please, please respond and dont refer back to a 2-3 yr old video. what is the cutting board that you use for your videos? I see your site says ironwood chopping block and also mentions Epicurean. On your kitchen must haves Amazon edition, you list the John Boos 18 x 3 cherry wood. So. what exactly is that round, dark, almost black piece of culinary artwork?

Made this. Rectangular, as I also could not find the round dough and mostly because after prepping the ingredients it became clear that all of that would not fit in the spring form pan that I own. So I build it in a casserole dish, hoped for the best and put it in the oven. It came out phenomenal.

no cheese pull. well and that's because you didn't really put any meaningful amount of cheese into the pizza. or sauce. also the top crust should be sprinkled with parmesan, not mozzarella. It's going to be overpowered by chicken and artichoke. can't really have a pizza with no cheese or sauce

No No No Sam! All wrong! Southside Ris here: you wanna know how to make perfect deep dish pizza watch the YouTube video from Ninos Pizza in OakLawn Il (so suburb of ChiTown)Your pizza is like California Pizza Kitchen which we all here in the pizza capital of the world. think it completely sucks.

I can't believe EVERYONE thinks us Chicagoans eat deep dish like that. I probably eat it 1-2 times a year. We order thin crust/regular crust most of the time. I speak for me and every Chicagoan I know. Deep dish is delicious, its just more of a special occasion type of thing.

That is absolutely PIZZA! I would gladly use knife & fork to carve it up and scarf it down. Yes, while happily giving The FINGER to everyone from the BRONX to QUEENS and BROOKLYN! Probably not throwing a huge wedge of cheese on my Apple Pie _a la mode_ though. That #! + is weird.

Sam; what about recreating some classic frozen snack food stuff like Bagel Bites, Hot Pockets, or or gas station fried food like pizza sticks and jojos, 7/11 roller food. Even piroshkis or hum bao rolls. Would be perfect for the munchies/game day playlist!

Deep dish was the very first pizza I ate at Pizza Hut in the UK when I was a kid. Best thing ever. They'd serve it red hot straight from the oven in a cast iron dish. Nice to see this video. Brought back great memories. Cheers Sam, another awesome video
