First Potted & Fresh Cut Flower Arrangements for the Hartley! Garden Answer Smurf: HELP! Im in North Wales U. K. and have started filling my planters up like Laura does (using lots more plants than I normally would)so it looks fuller from day 1.
Initially I was over the moon and they all looked stunning but today Ive noticed areas of plants in all of the planters are dying. Ive had a look and they seem to be rotting and mouldy at the base of the plant just where it meets the soil and the lower leaves of the healthy looking (for now) plants seem to be dying off. Am I over watering or is this method of cramming more in just not suited to our climate because its too wet, we dont get long dry days where I live and because the planters are so full Im guessing theres less airflow? are they staying wet for too long, is that the issue? Or is it something completely different Im missing. Is there anything I can do to rescue them?
This is my first REAL attempt at purposefully making the garden look pretty and I spent a fortune, I cant afford to replace them all and start again but its so early in the season to have empty planters. Any suggestions from you lovely people what I can do to rescue them, Im so upset

6: 29 Why does she entertain those feral cats? Disgusting things, they would not be in my garden whatsoever! Every week our homeowners association pays the city to go down every street in my gated community to catch all the feral cats and euthanize them. We have absolutely no idea where they keep coming from and why are they consistently breeding in our neighborhood. They crap everywhere, jump and sleep all on top of our cars, putting deep scratches in the paint. I've had to have my brand new 2021 Honda Accord buffed out twice, my antique Mercedes buffed once! I had to sacrifice and buy car covers for both costing an unnecessary $400 bucks. Wish I can terminate all of them at once because it's taking the city too long to do it.

I love how the kitty cats follow you all around they love you so much and even in your mom and dads garden as well I must ask you how do keep that grass so lush and green at your parents home it is absolutely gorgeous! Also would love to see your parents home at Christmas time at the garden lights etc. The Hartley looks fantastic! Ive been looking for that TJ Maxx champagne bucket but I think Im too late because that video was a few months ago

Hello Laura and Aaron! I love, love, love the floor in the Hartley! I feel like a kid Christmas morning. I can't wait to see how you design the inside as well as the beds around it! Your arrangement is stunning, it's a perfect fit. Benjamin is the sweetest little boy and I love that Russel is always by your side and wants to be a part of what ever you do! Thank you for everything you do and share!

I wish we had rain in the forecast for this week, but we will have 90 weather all week with high humidity.
Thank you so very much for your videos. I really enjoy your videos on Coral Bells. I have three in pots and I really enjoy looking at them. My sister saw the ones that I have, so she ordered some for her house this summer. Thanks again!

About your heating and cooling. For the cooling part of the year, you might want to put shade cloth over the top. That sun with glass, you will never even take the edge off. I want to see you happy, that is the only reason I mention it. Our sun is brutal. Otherwise, I am so excited to see things happening in this part of the garden.

Laura your visions are amazing. I love the arrangement in the Hartley. The yellow blooms coordinate nicely with the trees on the background. You mentioned the front pots look 'bridal', I can just envision a wedding in the Hartley. For that matter, anywhere on your property. The photos would just be spectacular!

Maybe you could put a console table in front of the heat/ac unit eyesore you mentioned lol. That way the bottom of the unit could still have air circulation but you could put plants, pots on top of the table. You'd barely see the unit then. Love your videos!

A white bench would be pretty on both sides outside, it would match your beautiful Hartley! Also white roses with green boxwoods framing the structure of the Hartley that's what I can see in my vision! I know you will come up with something beautiful!

Loved the flower arrangement! You mentioned the wispy yellow flower is a Columbine. I've only seen the blue/purple variety. Can you comment on the properties of it and where it can be purchased?
