Flowerbed Update at my In-Laws Garden Answer Lolo: I really like the Arctic Fire & what I really appreciate about your videos is that you always remind everyone to LOOSEN THE ROOT BALL! Nothing is worse than watching a show on HGTV, (y'all know one I'm talking about) when it comes time to do the landscaping, they take the plant from the container & without loosening those roots; they just plop it in the hole, backfill & move along to the next. The soil always looks like heavy clay too & without amending that soil, those plants will die. You know how people are about abused animals. that's how I feel about plants that I know are going to die because of lazy landscapers. It's just WRONG & can be avoided.

Hi Laura! I really want a black lace elderberry and the proven winners water soluble fertilizer, but cannot find them in a store or online for a reasonable price anywhere. Both are cheapest on the proven winners website, but I am on a budget and am having trouble stomaching the $30 + shipping fee. That could be a hydrangea instead of shipping! Do you have any coupon codes for proven winners or tips of how you like to buy things?

Want your opinion. We just bought a house we're moving into in a couple of days. My husband is an arborist and he's really into trees and plants. There's a few trees planted there already: crepe myrtle, butterfly bush, 3 dogwoods, and knockout roses. He wants to tear all of it up and plant fruit trees. (property is half acre) and some of the trees shade the drive way. And they're in good shape. I'm so upset! Lol

This was very helpful to see the growth of plants over time. Sometimes we are so eager to get the big plants so they fill in right away but the price can be a bit hard to take. Getting the small plants can be easier on the budget but then we have to wait for them to fill in. Thank you so much Laura for what you do!

Thank you for the update! Wonderful to see what it looks like today! I was just thinking of this project yesterday. I have a corner of my front yard that needs some interest, but I'm slightly nervous about taking out the sod. Seems so permanent! I wonder what this looks like from the road.

So pretty, thanks Laura for the update. When I first stubbled across you videos, I was looking for plants/shrubs that I could use in winter arrangements. It was a video where you used the Arctic Fire Dogwood. love it and have had it on my list to purchase and plant. Thanks for inspiring

Another beautiful garden spot! Can you please tell me from where I can order the G & B soil conditioner/ mulch you use? We live in Northern Illinois and cannot find it here at all. My husband makes ours and it takes way too long. Nor does it have all the goodies in it. Thanks!

Ok, that was cool. I like seeing how that look at from beginning to now. I have not see older videos. I wonder how the yard looks at your old condo. Like are the new owners able to keep up what you planted? Will they let us see? Or have you already made a video like that?

Question about the dogwood. I planted that variety last year and got the most disgusting worms on it. I researched and found that neem oil would take care of them, which it did. Now, will that happen again, every year? And any idea what caused that and how to prevent?

I can never figure out how many bags of mulch to purchase for a project. Wondering if there is a simple formula to figure out coverage. Ive tried to visualize the bags laid out flat over the area to figure coverage but there has to be a better way lol
