Planting a Hedge of Maple Trees Garden Answer Starla: Haters gonna hate. No matter what you do. We just had a bunch of trees taken out of our back yard and are planning on more in our front. It was so expensive that we are having to do it in 3 phases. The trees were all volunteers (several those terrible Bradfords. Glad you have done videos with the trees you have planted. Now this spring I will have ideas of the replacements to install. Your willow, what type is it? I talked to our tree guy and one area needs a huge statement tree and he suggested a Japanese Weeping Cherry. I grew up with one and have always wanted to have another one. It is far enough from home to not cause root invasion with our septic so I feel like that would be a good choice also.

Your garden is getting prettier and prettier by the day. I did not realize why you were replacing things in the beginning but now I understand. I really just starting my garden. I am preparing the ground now so that I can start planting in the Spring. I am very excited and I owe all of this to you. You have really educated me on how to accomplish this. I will take before and after pictures to post and send you! Thanks!

I live in London and only have a tiny patio garden with high basement walls but we transformed it. We rent so one day when we move we will take everything with us. More than 3/4 are in pots and its going to be like Mary Poppins bag when all the plants come out of our front door lol. I love all the inspiration you give me for when I have a bigger garden!

Ah - Maples! With 8 acres to masterplan from bare paddock to family-friendly rural garden with. well, smaller paddocks, it's very reassuring to have a resource like this to pinch ideas from; ) It's easy to get lost in the possibilities, but I think Maples might be a good starting place. Thanks for all the inspiration!

I am in zone 7 and I have a Japanese maple in a container from a year ago and a Shantung maple about 6 ft tall that I planted in the ground about a month ago. Both have what I believe is Leaf Spot or Leaf Mold. Do you have a recommendation for an organic treatment for this? Other than this both trees look good.

Hello from Greece! So i'm planning to plan some trees in order to clear the atmosphere. The point is that I also want trees to reduce radiation levels beacause my neighborhood is nearby a couple of power masts (like 200m). Do you have any suggestions for me? Keep up with the amazing work I love your videos.

These trees are sooooo pretty. I would love to plant 3 between my neighbor and us. I guess I need to find out how much they are: ) Im so sorry that others would even think to complain as you give your grass and plants away to others. Shame on them! You teach us so much and we love it. Thank you: )

Fantastic example of an expert tossing a root bound tree into too small of a hole. talk about a double whammy!
All those roots circling the tree should have been pulled apart to the extent possible and if not, then scored vertically. That hole is nowhere big enough. lol.

Really enjoyed this one and learned a lot! We really need to get some trees planted this fall but I've been intimidated to tackle it since last year. All your tree planting videos over the last year or so have made me feel like I might actually be able to do it!
