'Berry Awesome' Hibiscus Garden Answer ADIL: Beautiful! I bought a 14inch pot arrangement from home depot a few weeks ago. It has a few hibiscus (don't know the variety) plants in it along with some other vines and flowers and a purple broad leaf spike. The hibiscus plants had quite some buds but they all fell off. A new crop of buds came out but they also fell off right before they bloom! Basically, the buds would form and grow big, giving you the hope of seeing a big bloom, but then they turn yellow/brown and fall off. :-( Lost about twenty big buds. Why? BTW, the deer. I bought a couple of the same type of hibiscus last year (I think it's the same variety, came in 4inch single pot) and planted in ground. Had c couple of flowers then the deer or some other animals bit off the top.

These are so beautiful! Just bought the version you put in the back today, can't wait to put in our garden! Thanks for the video! I hope we didn't prematurely dig up our Rose of Sharon tree! We just dug it out today and replaced it with another since it is mid July in Wisconsin. It was in our front garden and beautiful the last 3 years! It is a traditional Rose of Sharon double purple in tree form! It had no leaves and when I bent a few of the branches they snapped, no green either so I assumed dead! Thanks again for all your great info and inspiration!

I have the big dinner-plate hibiscus but mine is pink & white wit a red center. I know they can withstand cold & I live in MN, zone 4 but I keep mine in pots & have my son come over & take them to the basement for winter. I had one in the ground & it grew one year but never came back (I gave it until August before I finally pulled out the stump) I bought them because they're supposed to be able to withstand the jugulone from the Black Walnut trees that kill everything but Sedum. But I'm too afraid to put them in the ground.

My mom had three Hibiscus trees outside of our second patio when I was a child. She was into anything tropical looking. She had a hedge of bird of paradise along one walk way. And then of course under the covered patio was all her Fushia's uprights and hanging. Lol she cracked me up, while I'm totally into free flowing wild flowers sweet peas and roses mix with herbs planted around she was totally set in her gardening

I have a 5-7 yr established rose of Sharon tree. Its gotten to long n spindly and Im required to tie it up esp when blooming. I cant seem to find any maintenance on it. Im having a similar problem w my limelight hydrangea. Guessing they both need a hard cutback but not sure how drastic to go. HELP.

Thanks for the helpful information! I was excited to see this video because I planted two Berry Awesome hibiscuses earlier this year! I started with four inch pots so no blooms this season but the foliage is healthy and growing.

I have some hibiscus that I started from seed. Still in pots and need to plant in the ground. You give me hope that I can still do it and they will be ok. Thanks for helpful tips and encouragement!
