Fall Container Inspiration in Green & White Garden Answer Lennard: I love your videos and have found a lot of inspiration from your examples. I am learning how to garden on a little beachhouse on the Baltic in Sweden. Proven Winners is actually brand that is readily available at our local garden center. I was wondering if that hydrangea in that pot would be ok in soil that was alkaline. I have tried what I thought would work a paniculata hydrangea which receives southern exposure direct light (sunset is at 11: 30 pm in the summer and sunrise is around 3: 30 AM, but they have not really flowered with spectacular panicles in the two years that they have been planted into the landscape. Perhaps another type of hydrangea would like the soil here better?

Question! The variegated plant, I planted 3 of those this year and they are struggling. I'm pretty sure they didn't get enough water. I replanted them into a better area for them. My question is this spring can I cut them back to almost the ground? They dropped there leave sin the summer all along the bottom of the plant. They kept the leaves on top of the plant. They need to be reshaped. Thanks!

That is just BEAUTIFUL! How easy is it to find these plants at a garden center during the fall season if you want to recreate a similar arrangement? Not sure if you see hydrangeas for sale in the fall at some of the big box stores. But I will say, you definitely know how to balance the leaf textures. so incredibly pretty!

were only a zone six but none of the nurserys have fall plants left. I can buy trees and shrubs and mumms of course but that's it and it just got cool enough in my front yard for fall things. But I will have to be extra prepared next year and set everything up before they sell out!

A beautiful cool, dignified pot design, Laura! I have a question-why don't you use impatience walleriana in shade pots and beds? Too common? But you use petunias, which suffer from the same thing. I like how they billow and weave together.

Thanks hat was a very pretty arrangement! Thank you for taking a little more time to talk about each of the plants. Living in Texas, I often wonder what plants in your videos I could use. This helped me find some new ones

Would you do a tutorial on how to build a pumpkin obelisk? I can't find anything showing how to put one together with the pumpkins stacked inside a metal obelisk. It's such a great fall look. Thank you!
