I Accidentally Bought Too Many Fall Plants Garden Answer leeluv96: I need help with my mums. The flowers I planted in the ground in September died right away even though I watered and fertilized on a schedule. I also added starter fert to the soil when I planted. But the ones that I left in the pots, and set in place in my flower garden, to look planted, held their blooms longer. Both sets of flowers are in my front yard only separated by my front walkway. The blooms and foliage eventually shriveled up, but last week I saw that there was curly looking new growth near the bases of the potted plants. They get a mix of Sun and shade every day. Every vid I watch gives varying tips on caring for mums. I wonder how YOU care for them. I live in Detroit, MI. I see others with mums planted around the same time as mine or even before. They are still alive and in full bloom. Also, I keep finding bonus tomato plants in my garden. They are not the variety of tomato I planted. My coworker said a grape tomato plant showed up in her yard this year. She's not a gardener at all. I wonder if others are experiencing this. I had one show up in my geranium hanging basket in mid summer. Last week I noticed a tiny plant sprouting in a pot that had been empty all season.

heheeh Love the bit at the start with the chickens, and the bit at the end with Cheddar! :-D
All the pots and the kitchen area looks really pretty. :-D Nice job!
I have difficulty removing annuals that are even looking straggly, to be honest: -/ So you're not alone. I bet most people following you feel regret at having to pull good looking plants!

Loving your beautiful plants, my goodness I really love the ornamental cabbage and the mums, gives me so many ideas again for my own fall pots, thank you again, I will enjoy your beautiful garden, as my weather gets colder, our temps are dropping below 50 during the day and below 20 at night, I'm so not ready for winter.

I had to watch this video a 2nd time. I noticed the tool that you used to clean up the hosta. My hands have become arthritic and it hurts to use a pruner to clean up numerous hostas in our cold NW WI climate. What is that knife that you were using and where did you get it?

You end up with so many plastic pots (I do too. Where I am I don't think our council can recycle them. I'm wondering if you have any good ways of recycling them (other than just reusing them cause I end up with waaaayyy to many? Do your suppliers take them back?

I always look forward to your podcasts! My question today is concerning small border boxwood you use. Could you give more details about them. Name, where to find them. How much time does it take to maintain. Thank you so much.

It looks beautiful! May I ask where you purchased the wrought iron grids/trellis' attached to your house in the background? We've been searching for something like that for our jackmanii clematis, against our house.

Laura, you've inspired me. I've had my gardener rip out and enlarge beds at my two homes. Thank you for your wonderful videos. Can you confirm that you don't pull your bulbs out of the ground each winter? Thanks

I really adore the combination of the kale, mums, and pansies. Such pretty colour. :) Also it's great to see the chooks, would love to see them in more videos. They make such sweet little noises.
