Work Day At My Parent's Garden Garden Answer Christina: 17: 20 - Are those steps / retaining steps made of old railroad ties? We currently have something similar at the very top of our property (we live on a fairly steep hill in the forest on a property over 100+ years old, and have read that they have a toxic chemical called Creosote in them. We want to do a terraced raised bed situation under neath them, but are afraid the soil has been permanently contaminated. Since it seems you have some raised beds there beneath those steps, I'm wondering if you know anything about that?
Thank you so much - been a fan for years!

Hard work never seems like work when many come together to knock out daunting tasks. Makes it fun while building memories and relationships. Ha! I grew up with 5 brothers. And 1 had the habit of always being late. I started calling him blister. When he finally asked why I was calling him that, I said well because that's what shows up after the work is done lol. Don't think he appreciated my sense of humor lol. But all in good fun.

Question about just how clean one should clean up their beds in the spring. I wonder about this every year as I rake all the leaves up. I like the look of things tidy, so I am diligent in doing this, but arent the leaves I am removing potential nutrients for the bed? Should I leave some (and how much) and just cover with mulch for a clean look? I wish I could see your beds really close up to see how fastidious I should be.

I so enjoyed watching U, Laura and yr Family coming together at yr Parents Home. It always feels great to come together with yr siblings to help care for yr Parents and there things. Oh and the WINDOW BOX IS GLORIOUS. I dearly love the window box. But yr Parents will not be able to look through the windows. Thank U Laura for all yr Help & Time in putting this video together.

I am in love with the Heuchera - I had never really paid much attention to them before - and then I went to PW's website and found Peachberry Ice. I have to have that one! Your family is just so awesome! Benjamin singing ABCs made my morning! And the kitty! Thank you for sharing your family work-day at your parent's house.

Aaawww! Your baby so smart & adorable. Love the team work I've done work like this at my place and it really takes a team to clean up yards and gardens. Your mom's Awesome! she baked blt's and cookies yum! What type cat is that; is it Persian. I use to have a Persian & she didn't like anyone petting her. Amazing video!

Hi I live in Michigan so I know the weather is something like yours, so should I be out cleaning my garden? Last week I went out but the ground was so wet so I left it alone, however I did clean up my rose bush and I cut back my Annabelle. Please help I've learned a lot from but I have a long way to go! Thank you

Your mom's garden is wonderful! And so is your family. Such an example to the world on how life should be lived and enjoyed. Thank you for the inspiration. What are the staggered trellis sections set at an angle (16: 23) supporting? Would love to see this section in bloom.

Screw cats, they kill songbirds. Dogs are real pets. They actually have personalities. Cats are feral by nature and don't really need us. And there are too many of them as it is. Plus they stink worse than any other pet, even the stinkiest dog.
