Tomato Growing Basics & Planting Tips! Garden Answer Belinda: I was told when living in WA, Puget Sound area, very moist area as you well know I am sure, anyway was told to prune the tomatoes plant to look more like a tree with only leaving the branches with blooms because they need more wind coming through with less sun, it worked great lots of tomatoes. Well now we live in NV very dry climate and it did not work so well last year not an abundance of tomatoes. I also have limited space so put all in pots and most of the tomatoes got the mushy spots on the bottom. This was great info as I just potted 4 this year and all are the vine type with cages around them, any advice?

Love tomatoes!
One year my Aunt and I had a fun contest to who would get the first ripe tomato. I planted my plants early, in my area, Louisville Kentucky, they say not to plant the tomatoes before the Kentucky Derby. I planted early because I didn't know, but I kept vigil and covered my plants when temps dropped low.
I got the first tomato before July 1. I gave it to my Aunt.

Two years ago I planted Indigo Rose tomatoes. They are dark purple to almost black, while the inside is bright red. They were so delicious, but the production was poor. I would like to try them again, but I'm having trouble finding them. Any guidance on planting and caring for this variety.

Hi Laura. Love your content. I have a question. Its April 2021 in the Edmonton Alberta area, so planting out is at least a month away. I was gifted four tomato plants, and they are quite leggy already. could you please do a video on what to do to address this problem please: -)

Growing tomatoes on an apartment balcony. Herbs on an apartment balcony. I am a beginner but would love to get started with something on the balcony. Thank you so much for inspiring me to get started. Both you and Seth Harmony on Gardeners World in Britain are wonderful.

You never cease to amaze me! Your garden, your flowers, your knowledge is so expiring! You cant possibly do all your own pruning/maintenance do you? Thankyou for all you do for us who love being in the garden!

So on watering a tomato plant in a pot. do u water it till it's soaked and water runs thru the drainage hole like flowers or just lightly water daily. I have been soaking thru and waiting for it to dry out but I notice my leaves are turning crispy and brown.
