Raised Bed Cocktail Garden! Garden Answer tupe: Am so inspired watching you videos. but herein India real estate is so pricy its hard to earn an 700 square feet throughout ones lifetime. so am just a rooftop gardener. though i have managed to grow quite a lot all alone myself, they inspire me so much. and you videos are like dream to me. some times it makes me sad that what has happend to our country the suffering of common people is actually unimaginable, but noone to hear us. politicians, outsiders and goons have looted common Indians so much that we are struggling with deep proverty and unemployment, that is still to take millions of life here. sorry but just wanted to share a peice of my mind, today am realy sad thinking about my and my families future.

How clever. Blackberry and sage are a favorite combination of mine, usually enjoyed in the form of preserves. A touch of cloves adds depth and complexity. Blackberries and cloves were made for each other, IMO.
This inspires me to plant more foods and herbs that are typically enjoyed together in groupings. Laura, I share your love of a group of pots in a variety of sizes arranged by a doorway. Perhaps you would consider repeating this planting in several pots outside your kitchen door when this garden eventually makes it to its new home. Such a lovely gift to give someone you love. Editing is top flight, as usual. Lisa

Just a tip about plant tags, I have found DECO COLOR paint marker to last years. I use plastic picnic knives and write on the top and the bottom, in case they snap off, and I use spoons for annuals because they are not that neat to me, and I don't care if I have to throw them away after one year. I got the markers from Itsy and a fabric/craft store, but I think you could find them at any art or craft store. Just a cheap way to go.

Beautiful planter, and you are always such an inspiration. I would love some of these in my own yard, bending over to garden gets harder and harder the older I get, so a raised one would be much appreciated. Love that it's self watering and it really is a sharp looking planter. Thanks so much for sharing this video and I will be excited to see how all the plants do. Happy Mother's Day to you, sending love and hugs, bye for now.

Wonderful gift idea! That elevated raised bed has been on my wish list, one for my Moms house and one for my deck to grow salad veggies. Your video prompted me to order. Thanks! They wont arrive until July - back ordered. My deck only gets a few hours of afternoon sun, Any suggestions for what veggies I can grow late in the season?
Also, does it matter what type of soil you use in self-watering planters?

I'm gardening from the UK and there is a big push to not use peat in compost mixes because it is destroying natural peat bogs. So I was interested to hear you say about the peat in your mix. Most of our garden programme hosts make a point of saying 'peat free' etc. I was wondering whether across the pond the same message is being spread?
Love your garden videos. Fantastic info and makeovers!

I loved this idea so much I created a cocktail garden of my own! My daughter and I potted everything this past weekend (rosemary, basil, stevia, thyme, and mint in a separate pot) and we are excited to watch the plants grow and to start harvesting! We were so excited, we have already used some rosemary from another spot in our garden and made some fun cocktails and mocktails as a family!

Wow. This is such a great idea. It would be fun to have a get together, set the recipes in a spiral book with glasses around as well of the other liquid ingredients so that each person can make the drink of their choice. Fabulous! Thank you
Happy Mothers Day! Hope you had a wonderful day

Hi. I just started a raised bed about a month ago. Question how often should I fertilize? Also is there any particular pesticide you use? One other question not knowing about indeterminate and determinate, I planted 2 indeterminate in my raised bed. Can they be transplanted at any time?

Happy Mothers Day! I would not take that bet on taking away plants from your plan! Curious how a full planter could be moved - wont it be extremely heavy? Unless the balcony is main level how will you move it in? I am going to use this garden idea for a raised bed I have. Love it!
