My Experience with Foxglove!

I just planted one in the freshly landscaped river rock in front of my house along with several other types of plant. My landscaper actually went with my wife and I to the nursery to get the plants, and while every other plant is doing good, the fox glove seemed to die after about 3 weeks and it was my favorite plant! Maybe I over watered it? It's in a mix of sun and shade. I want to get another one but don't want to have the same outcome, any suggestions? Thanks!

I planted foxgloves last summer they flowers this year and one of them grow so tall over 8feet plastic my fence it was a show. i will be saving seeds I'm hoping I can get it that big next year again! I had more than a dozen plants front and back of the house. they are slowing down to finish blooming now the bees loved them now it time for the dahlias sun flowers and others flowers to put on a show.

Foxglove is Digitalis, the base of the cardiac medication, Digoxin. Digoxin slows the heart rate down and is considered quite toxic in that it cannot be removed from the bloodstream once ingested. It cannot by dialysed out of the body. Dont toss a handful of foxglove seeds into your mouth or make a salad from their leaves. most gardeners have proper common sense, but their friends may not.

I bought my first Dalmatian peach foxglove plant. Its beautiful and am hoping that it will reseed itself so I will have more plants. You say yours reseed. I recently read that the seeds that do come up and grow wont be the same plant that was originally planted because that plant was a hybrid. What have you found with yours. Are they the same as the mother plant or not.

Growing my flowers/veggies from seed, make me appreciate the wonderful gift our creator gave us all, because it is only because of his loving design that we can regrow plants in the first place. What a loving God who created all things for man's enjoyment. Thank you for all you share!

I just tried these this year! I gad no idea there were more than one kind, so I dont know which one I have planted. I got the seeds at Home Depot and planted them in a planter a couple weeks ago and the are doing great! Cant wait to see if I have blooms this year! Lol

I realize this is from las year but decided to try foxgloves from seed because they are so readily available around here. Im so excited to see around 20 new foxglove seedlings growing. They are a little pricy to buy as a blooming plant so Im willing to wait. :)

I love the color combo, the peach and purple, beautiful! And foxglove is one I had forgotten about, I had it at my previous home, where we had great soil. Now it's a gravel pit, but I'm thinking of putting some in pots or perhaps a raised garden.

Yes, I found them friendly.
You know if you eat them, they can cause your heart to just. stop!
