I have done a similar process except I wait for a dry spell. I drain my fountain completely and then let the algae completely dry up. Then I take a leaf blower and the algae is like dust and blows away. I havent had to brush the fountain but mine is a terra-cotta color and the slight amount of residual algae in there doesnt seem to make a difference but you could always brush it away if you wanted.

If I had a large budgetId be in trouble.
But I still get inspired by your garden and all the beauty you create. I dont have the same growing zone but I wouldnt trade it for the world because I love love love the rainy days and all its overcast. Couldnt live without my evergreen trees.
Thank you for showing all your work! I really appreciate you

I just noticed this morning some disgusting white fur on one of my plants. Do you suggest I cut this plant down to the ground so it could try to grow back better it is it completely lost. Im not sure if its the lily plant if the hibiscus since they are right next to each other. I took a picture but Im unable to paste it here

Pumps are so frustrating. Why is it that the fountain was running perfectly before cleaning and the minute you clean it and plug it in it says nope I'm not going to work. I don't have a garden fountain but I have several cat fountains and each one does the same thing every time I clean them. Sigh.

Cleaning Pumps: I use my Waterpik flosser to clean my pump. Run the waterpik and then give the pump a few gentle taps with a hammer - then floss again. Floss all sides.
My pump was getting clogged and something gave me the idea to use the flosser. Works great!

You have such a beautiful place. It gives me such hope that when I love to Idaho next summer I will be able to plant things and get results. I appreciate all of your real videos showing your failures as well as your many successes. Thanks for sharing!

Wah! Too much work; you actual can buy some mild 50% concentrated chlorine (those use for swimming pool ) fill it in with water; and must connect a PVC/ rubber hose at the bottom drain it out latet after 1. 0hour, most algae will be rinse out together.

I LOVE Guara! I planted my first plant this spring. My question is do you prune it? If so how? I read some people prune the bloom stalks halfway midsummer but I feel like that would look odd. I am open to anyones suggestions!
