A Little Planting, a Little Harvesting, and a Little Cooking! Garden Answer Susan: Well, I have to admit to deep tool envy! I am 69, and with a health problem, no longer have the endless stamina and strength that characterized my previous 55+ years of passionate gardening. Scrounging endless bags and trashcans of manure, seaweed, sawdust and wood chips were routine, but for the last two years I have literally wasted a few hundred dollars of bulbs and purchased plants that I never got planted. Thus the lusting over that drill attachment for digging holes. The price of power tools has gone through the roof in the past ten years, so will need to save for awhile to get one, but it would be a HUGE asset. Now if I could just borrow Aaron, all would be well! OMG that chicken is totally mouthwatering - complete with the sizzle.

12. 37 Remove the ends ofvthe beans. Wash them. Dry them with a cloth. Put olive oil in a saucepan, grate some onion, heat the oil on high temperature and when onion is sizzling put the green beans in. Also peel and cut lengthwise some potatoes. Put them in the saucepan. Stir evetything and then add a bit of water and lower the heat. Add some chopped garlic and fresh dill. Let everything cook till they are soft. Add tomatoe sauce(from a big squeezed tomato) and let them cook until the juice is reduced and looks nice. Add salt and after 5 minutes turn the heat off.

Speaking of using your own garlic for this dish. I planted garlic for the 1st time I am in zone 6b and on the east coast getting days of rain. Im noticing the shoots coming up! I know the scapes are to be cut back but help Im confused! Do the scapes stay up over winter or did they pop up to early?
Waiting for my leaf piles to dry so I can put leaf mulch on top.

Bonus! Getting to see you cook your homegrown vegetables. While planting I noticed how great your pulmonaria looks. Mine tend to fizzle out around August/July. Any suggestions? Also, Im starting to use plant tags so I know where plants are after theyve been cleaned out. I get mine from Paw Paw Everlast label company in Michigan and they last through winter.

Love watching these videos first thing in the morning with my coffee. Being a military family I am using these videos to create my dream list for when we are done moving and I can actually plant all the things. You have taught me so much and inspired me in many ways. Thank you for giving so much of your time.

G'day from Downunder. Love that y'all are now cooking. Would be great to see a little Nigella Lawson treatment of the framing, not just the food. Also don't be scared to mis-pronounce words like Tartin (pronounced Tar-tan) because it means you learned it from reading, which is a good thing.

Laura, a great hack a friend taught me about cooking corn on the cob. bring large pot of water to boil, put corn into pot, turn off heat and cover. It will be perfect if served in minutes or an hour or more. It really is the perfect way. I hope you try and enjoy.

Wow! I loved the cooking show with garden time so much. The little boy is so adorable. Great video. I was watching a 2019 video earlier where you plant ferns around a Japanese maple; how did they turn out?

You already made me want to have a beautiful garden. Now I want to roast a chicken and grow green beans! Loved the positive comments you both gave Benjamin. He's a lucky boy.
