Transplanting a Few Perennials! Garden Answer Sandy: Hi Laura and Aaron! I purchased the exact same garden bag-tarp from Amazon, Amatory brand and LOVE it! The bigger one you have was out of stock and I'm so glad it was because this one is the perfect size. The link you added is not for the same item and has only 1, 4 star review. The Amatory one has 434 reviews and a 4. 5 star rating. It was a game changer for me when I cleaned out the raised beds and flower pots. In fact I told my sister about it, she ordered one and loves it, too! I just wanted to mention to be sure and check for the Amatory brand for other viewers that might be interested in it. You got quite a bit done and I think it will look really pretty later on. I'm glad you decided to keep the cherry and lilac trees. They're both so pretty. I'm anxious to watch your progression on everything. Thank you so much for sharing!

Hi Laura! I love your beds beside the house. Can you please give any insight into planting around house foundations (i. e, any considerations to take so as to avoid possible issues with water/roots and the foundation? Has this ever been an issue for you? The first thing I did when we bought our home was dig garden beds around the sides but I have since read this can cause issues with basement water seepage etc. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Your soil looks so loamy and easy to work with--hope that was true for you. Off topic: do you cut your jeans at the bottom of pant legs? It looks cute, and since I don't like sewing/hemming (and I have short legs, so forever having pants too long) this looks like my go-to solution! Unless they came that way. let me know so i don't ruin my pants needlessly Blessings

I have 2 limelight hydrangea and 3 firelight that of course are dormant, but my question is I'm redoing a flower bed that I want them in would it be counter productive to bring them in my greenhouse (cold frame) and up pot them in large containers to wake them up earlier to get a jump start on the growth? I plan on turning on the heat (low) in March.

I can't grow hellebores anywhere. They are aphid magnets in my neighborhood and become (against my plans) as sacrificial hosts for the pest. They are covered with all stages of the aphids and no amount of soaking the entire plants and surrounding soil will kill the aphids for good. I dug my entire new shade bed up and threw them in the trash

One thing I never have to worry about in Western Oregon when transferring plants this time of year is watering. Our ground on on this side of the state is always so saturated & it will only be a day or 2 before our next rain storm comes thru again! I was amazed at the ease in which you were able to lift your plants Laura!

For several years since you've been at your current home, you have talked about taking out an old lilac that was near the front entrance of the old part of the house (there was a metal bench by it. I can't tell if it is still there. If it was taken out, were you able to film it being taken out?
