Really enjoying the recent videos. I was wondering, as you often say the ground cover in your mums garden is strong, why dont you start some ground cover in some of the open areas? It would start to fill out slowly and would be there for you to draw on when you decide where you need it. It may keep some of the weeds down too. I have Pachysandra and its lovely, but is taking time to spread. Sweet woodruff on the other hand, is a bit of a thug once it gets going. but thats here in UK.

Im always wondering about organic plants. Ive heard we should be planting organic plants and seeds to save the bees and hummingbirds. And for healthiest food. I know you care about that but it doesnt look like you plant organic plants and seeds. Maybe it doesnt really matter? Ive gone through great lengths to make sure our birds and bees and butterflies have organic plants to feast upon. Hoping you tell me it doesnt matter because I really want those limelights. So gorgeous

I live in mountainous northern New Mexico and deal with daily deer pressure. One of the two or three truly deer resistant plants in my flower garden is hyssop (the mule deer here even eat my alliums. It, naturally, has become my favorite! The smell (anise-mint, the grace, the color (gray-green leaves, salmon flowers, the size, the pollinators (hummingbirds FLOCK to it) are wonderful. Looking forward to buying a new variety next year. Thanks for the heads up!

I really enjoy all of your explanations about the plants but, as a new, learning gardener the explanation about how you plant the plants ( at soil level, below or above the soil level, with fertilizer when planting or after planted etc) is so very helpful for me too. There is so much I find I dont know & you are such a good teacher.

LOVED the foliage on the new heliopsis, but not a fan of the bloom color - sorry, Laura! I know how much you like orangey colors but they're not my fave. Maybe it was just the video coloring, but the blooms looked more yellow/ golden (which I like) in the PW photo that popped up but looked more like orange in your plants.

Question for anyone who may knowWill flower seeds like zinnia or cosmos, grow up through shredded mulch. I have a perennial bed that I want to mulch but there are spots in it I would like to direct seed some flower seeds, and Im not sure if I mulch over those seeds, if they will grow up through the layer of mulch.

It would be GREAT if you ended some of your videos with wider footage of your property. Your focus is often on one small area where youre working, but Id love to see how other areas are progressing more often. Its all so beautiful. You wouldnt need any narration, just visuals. What do you think?
