Beautiful Purple Plant Options for Your Garden! Garden Answer Donna: That was a fun video! Think the midnight masquerade penstemon was my favorite. Can't wait to see the stack stone wall you are planning by your kitchen entrance! Hope you show the actual construction process when it goes in. Those Instant karma elderberries were beasts! Does the Lemony Lace elderberry grow as big? I love purple and lemony chartreuse green plants together, but don't have as much room as you.

Hey guys! Loved this one. I have added a lot of purple foliage and flowers to my garden the past few years. I recently realized how good peach / orange goes with purple. Would love to see a video like this one that showcases some of your favorite peach / apricot / orange flowers. I know apricot is one of your favorite colors so I bet you have a lot of suggestions.

This was the perfect video for me today! After watching I went to my local garden center and purchased 2 Midnight Masquerade Penstemon for my garden. It needed this beautiful color to offset the greens and I love it! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge and inspiring me everyday to be a better gardener. I love watching every morning with my coffee!

I know your not one to do hard pruning but I think that bed you struggle with, the lilac needs to be either be cut as a high pollard and be refreshed and comeback and train it better as a tree or cut it to the ground and have it comeback as a shrub. As its really what causes that odd lighting. As the locust provides dappled shade

I found some proven winners purple hucheras last season and I put them in urns. They are so decadent in any grouping with so many colors. They wintered just fine in my zone 8b Oregon garden. The purple leaf color is quite striking. Thank you for the inspiration to garden outside of my comfort zone of pastel colors!

Notes re: penstemons n coleus. Found out penstemons seed like crazy. I'm constantly pulling seedings out of oddball places.
When coleus start flowering, it's a signal that the coleus will approach end of plant life. I remove the flowers to hold that off and gain several weeks when I do that.

Talking about texture! I'd love to see amsonia schubertii in your garden.
It grows to 3x3', has very feathery, light green stems, soft blue flowers in spring. But, the real show is it's autumn gold. Absolutely gorgeous. I first saw it at the penn arboretum and had to have it.

Love the purple colors! When you were by the Columbines, you spoke of plants that thrive (or mostly not) in that location. Have you tried Daylilies? Those Columbine won't last forever. In fact, now that I think of it, you don't really have any Daylilies! What's that about?

Gorgeous plants and colors. It's hard to find purple/red in zone 3 in shrubs and trees. Thank you for doing these types of videos, it's always nice to see what's out there for different plants.
Looks beautiful as always. Love how the west side is filling in.
