I have a love for evergreens too. My garden space isn't large, so I can't have as many as I'd like, but seeing these smaller specimens gives me lots of ideas. Question about watering Laura. At 15: 01 in the video you said that you start out with 2 gallon an hour emitters and go to 1 gallon an hour emitters. And then just one emitter. Question, how many 2 gallon and hour emitters would you start out with for the larger of the evergreens you planted today? And. how long do you run the water? For a full hour? 1/2 an hour? I always have trouble deciding how long to run a drip system.

I like the cute little round evergreens. That littlest one looks like a perfect green basketball.
I don t think you re doing it wrong with the day lilies. They probably have their place in a wilder area where you want something that is hands off care. But I have never seen one that doesn t get mangy looking. I m really not a fan.

What a Monday treat! So peaceful. You really make my week. That South Garden has evolved so much in such a short time. Whenever you have a chance you should put a before and after pictures or videos. I am sure we will all be amazed by the change. Thanks guys! (The music was really good.

I really love that you see beauty in all the shapes and textures of various evergreens. I have always been pretty narrow in what I like, which is typically Christmas tree shapes. You have opened up my mind to appreciating lots of other types of evergreens. Thank you!

You are such an inspiration Laura! I had a question regarding arborvitae. Does it make sense to plant it in a zigzag position when spacing is limited? Our landscaper is pushing us towards that. We only have 15ft space width. I believe it might make it look crowded.

I got very excited when I saw this video. I am always on the lookout for smaller scaled evergreens. Unfortunately, when I went to the link for the plants, it s a wholesale site. I was hoping for a mail order location that I could order from as a home gardener

Seeing how well your garden did with all the extra rain this year, will you run your drip longer or more often next year? I have been watching almost daily since I was a teen and you were at your old house thanks for all the knowledge you share!

Is that large spruce at 9: 38 doing poorly? The idea of transplanting a large tree like that for instant impact is nice but it doesn t seem to be doing very well. Wish I had room in my yard for an evergreen tree but I don t.

You with that beautiful background of lovely plants at the end of the video just makes me smile. It's too hot and humid in southern Alabama for me to be outside but I still enjoy watching you plant your amazing garden!

I agree with you on the daylilies, they are difficult to deal with. Also, I sure made a mistake of planting Mexican primroses and now I'm trying to get rid of them. Any suggestions? Indiana zone 5/6

Beautiful work you and Aaron are doing to your property! Adding new trees always adds a new dimension to your landscape. Plus the birds and animals have homes to hide in during the winter.

I'm so happy to hear someone else say that about daylilies! The foliage is at its worst when the blooms are at their best and you've given me the nudge to rip mine out. LOL

Can you keep any of these in containers over winter? We are building and can t plant until spring but id love to buy some clearance trees now.

The colors you put together blend beautifully! It s 6am here in northern Illinois and 91% humidity I m very used to it, but I envy your dry heat!
