Update Tour & Perennial Planting at Monica s House! I don t usually comment but enjoyed this video immensely this morning with my coffee and have to say you have such a lovely family. It is so refreshing to see and your Mom must be so proud of you girls and carrying on the love of gardening and now sharing with us daily. Years down the road I could see you and Monica running the family business after your parent retire or travel the world Again, thanks for sharing.

Question: I spent an hour digging just 2 holes for a couple echinaceas. The 3 in drill could barely break ground but got it started enough to get in there its almost like digging through clay bricks out here sometimes so discouraging we live in Kansas City area, I spread some gypsum down after this experience but was wondering if you have any other suggestions for amending this hard clay soil?
Thank you for all of your inspiration and wealth of knowledge. They are finishing up some hard scaping in the front side (hillside)garden. They are stocking it with 8 of good soil. So excited to start placing a couple pieces in before winter! .
Again thank you!

Love those hydrangeas in front yard, the white rose, and evergreen trees you put in backyard. So nice look with green grass, raised beds and arbors. You can do alot in what think is small area, because of layered beds also.
Read somewhere people mow
their day lillies after first bloom
. once get overgrown
. sometimes get second flush of blooms
. others just trim them back like 12 inches.
May get alot of breeze but beautiful sky vista over the fence.

I took your suggestion and watched the video of your last house. Then I found the three part post of the first garden tours of when you moved to your current property.
WOW YOU GUYS HAVE DONE SOOOOOO MUCH IN 6 YEARS!
It was so fun to watch that blast from the past. Thank you for sharing your journey and all your hard work with us. Monica's place shows that even a small yard can feel just rewarding as 8 acres!

Love that you & Monica are able to work together to make over her back yard space. My sister & I would have fought so badly about everything it would have been a disaster. We were 18 months apart but worlds apart in personality. How far apart in age are your siblings & where are you in relation to them - oldest, middle, youngest? It all looks so good & Monica, your hair xcut looks so great on you!

So pretty and inspiring! I have been looking forward to an update. Thank you for sharing this process with us, Monica and Nick. I love that between you two and your parents there is a wide variety of styles and inspiration to gather from. We are in the process of buying a twenty two acre horse farm with tons of gardening space, so I love all things garden answer and family.

I m so happy to see Monica s garden again. I need a limited space to garden in. Potted plants are my favorite, my veggies are in raised beds. Our home has established gardens with a cement border. For me it s easier to get creative in a defined space. My last house was on 10 acres and it was so overwhelming I couldn t even start a garden

Love this! I grew amazing eggplants this year but ended up pulling up the plant & bagging the whole thing to garbage because of little black flea beetles. Never had that issue before. I didn't want the problem to spread even though only the leaves seemed to be affected. Have you ever had to deal with flea beetles?

It s looking so full already. Can t wait to see it next year. Monica should have lots of hummingbirds next year when they find her honeysuckle vines. Hummingbirds right by their patio. Will need to put out some feeders in the spring too. It s going to be fun. Thanks for the tour.

Thank you for Monica s garden tour! I loved it. It was amazing to see how everything had grown this past summer. Especially loved the raised vegetable beds. Looking forward to next year with this garden. Great inspiration for those of us who have small gardens.

It looks so amazing. Love this project because it shows what you can do with a small yard. The fact that she has so much going on in such a confined space bit yet it still feels big and well put together gives hope to thise who can't have 8 acres.

Thanks for the update. I love seeing you helping your and Aaron's sisters with their gardens because those spaces are more in line with what most people have. Can we get an update on Aaron's sister's raised bed garden? And your mom's too? Thanks so much!

Thank you Monica (and Laura) for showing us your lovely garden. It is a wonderful and welcoming space that I imagine will look great in all four seasons.
Lovelier things could not happen to a more beautiful family.

Everything looks beautiful! I think I saw a flag with a star on it hanging in Monica's front window 00: 39 indicating someone in her household is serving in the military. Thank you for your service!

Very pleasant area. Smaller spaces are great in terms of manageability and concentrating focus to use the area in the best way possible. A small fountain, as you mentioned would top it all off.
