Finishing the Tree Planting, Perennial Planting & Pathway/Patio Update! Amazing how much you all have gotten done in just a few years! You have created quite a beautiful spot on earth. Laura, do you ever consider loriope or mondo grass as small border plants. They may not do well in your area or they may not be to your taste. I find you have to be picky about which ones you plant so they are not running all over the place, but they are such a quick, and in my opinion, pretty edge plant and easy to maintain.

Oh my if I was only 30 years younger! I just love everything you have done on your property, it s not only beautiful, but restful too. Every year I try and tackle an area that needs rejuvenating on our property, but it usually takes a long time, and the maintenance suffers in other gardens. I m hoping for a long mild fall, so I can finish my improvements. Maybe next year it will be maintenance only. I need a Paul and Bethany! Congratulations to the entire team!

Had alot of sweet gum growing along a forest trail near a house lived in. to me their leaves add a sweet fragrance to the air and you don't mind walking with their fallen seed pods. Think its a problem if ground is paved and roots could damage foundations of buildings.
In natural landscape they are really nice, read on Wikipedia their seeds feed chipmunks, squirrels, goldfinches & purple finches. Can live 400 years

Beautiful trees, your borders are gorgeous, I lean more towards the pinks and purples as well. Shopping for sale trees encourage me to visit the nursery by us and I found a Hinoki Falsecypress I have been wanting for years: ) Your property is so lovely, you are blessed with a clean slate, we have clay and tree roots we have to work around, but ours is coming along.

So much beautiful planting! I love the trees! The new perennials! Such a lot of production in the last few days. I have noticed that in all of this, you have done all the digging by hand. So funny, I was just about to ask how you determined when to use an auger, when you answered that question. Mind reader!

The gardens are stunning! Amazing that you stuck to your core beliefs as to what a garden should include (red, blue, green, and gold) winter interest, 3 season blooms, and plant where you think the plants will shine. They certainly do! Wow. Love the progress and love the views. Such inspiration. thank you

The background music is my favorite! I've come to think of it as Laura's Theme although I think that's really in Doctor Zhivago LOL. It is just such a happy peaceful song. it makes every video over-the-top for me. Thanks for another sweet video of your garden life.

Oh my word. Do you have a map of where everything is, how can you tell is an empty space is truly empty. I dig into so many things not realizing that I had planted something previously and it s just dormant can t wait to see the development of the new property

Yep going with the lighter sand was the correct decision. Pedro s work is beautiful
And oooh to see all those trees planted and watering set up to all of them lots accomplished in such a short period of time was great effort by all of you. Kudos

I hope one day soon you guys get a family photo shoot on the property done with your babies and baby tree's!
How cool would it be in 20 years time to see your children and trees grow in the same place, have the pictures side by side.

It's absolutely amazing how much you guys have done this year. Everything is looking so good. Christmas is going to be here before we know it. Can't wait to see how everything comes together. Your pond is just gorgeous. Great job everyone

Your property is absolutely incredible! You, Aaron, Paul and Bethany are the hardest working people on earth. The contractors you work with are true professionals. We are are so lucky to enjoy this journey with all of you. Thank you.

The finished walkway looks fantastic! Planting higher IS a good idea but trees will blow over if theyre not anchored well. In the video a couple of the trees that Aaron and Paul planted look like they arent straight, sorry guys!

I love the pines you just planted. More places for you to plan Xmas lights. The Veronica is so pretty in drifts and the pond makes me miss my small one. So relaxing and peaceful looking. Thank you for sharing the progress.

You're going to need a nice firepit for winter so the kids can have hot chocolate and keep playing around the pond in the winter and also Yourself and Aaron on date night! With hot toddies and a warm blanket soooooo romantic!

I honestly think you should dig up some sumac suckers and plant then along the fence to fill it in quick lol. I have a lot of sumac, it does great and the good thing is they are pretty easy to take out if you need.
reply

Laura and Aaron, you should move that sumac to the new property as it will totally create a hedge, or border and it can grow as big as it's little heart desires plus it will add a lot of fall interest.
reply

Oh my goodness, the addition of the trees and evergreens on the new property looks so good! Your west side is stunning! And the Pond pathway, Wow! Thanks for sharing your journey with us. Love the pond!
reply

Soon you'll need to prepare the pond for winter? Not sure to what extent that entails in your zone, but here in MN we have to remove all pumps and pump it dry, as everything freezes to the core.

You should pair with a local bee keeper and have hives on the outskirts of the property. They do all the work so you wouldn t have too. I know you ve had bees in the past. Love your videos. Thanks.
