Removing Grass, Transplanting Established Roses & Big Time Wisteria Pruning! What a productive day! I know you say you don t go in with a solid plan. I m noticing the exception to that is when it comes to the foundations. You have the basic general idea of where and how you want the basics and overall views. So that means some things have to go. I forgot about the pallet walkway. How amazing it is that it still looks great after all this time.

that is what gardening is all about things are going to need to be changed, not all plants work in a spot, i have a fairy rose I have had for years, and I put it in several places over the years and nothing seemed to work it didnt seem to be happy, so I put it in a big pot and it is now thriving, and beautiful sitting by the chicken coop. wish I lived near someone like you I love ice bergs and climbers in general and would of taken them I have enough land for more plants. i have acidic soil and my hydrengeas I bought this year are blue of the blue, a little purplish on the one plant that has those flat tops and pedals on the outside if that makes any sense. so if you want blue I guess you have to put iron on a spot, but the neighbors have those panicle hydrengeas that get redder over time and they are absolutly stunning when they are fully red, will have to get some next year.

Excuse me, no more getaways for Aaron. The air quality must have been bad where you guys were. I mean, Aaron comes back from your getaway and takes up BEAUTIFUL GREEN GRASS! So, there are no more getaways for Aaron. I agree with you, Laura. The rose bushes need to go. I like seeing the structure of the fireplace on the outside. You can sit by the fireplace and look at the Hartley. I miss seeing the chicken coop.

Your videos are always a breath of fresh air to me! No matter what is going on around me, I feel light and airy when I watch the hard work you all do and how beautiful your space is! It's an inspiration to me for my own garden and I gain so much knowledge, as well! Question - could you move the climbing roses to your arbor tunnel in the south garden? Thanks again for your videos!

Yes, digging plants is hard work! I had a huge clump of day lilies that needed to be removed that I was putting off because I knew it was going to be a lot. It took me a couple of hours getting all of the roots. Hopefully I was successful in getting the all! Took me a full day to recover from that strenuous job!

I start each day with you (and Aaron, coffee in hand, cozy in my big chair in my sunroom, watching the projects you tackle and the plants you have surrounded yourself with! I live on a beautiful little lake, work at a botanical garden and have coffee every morning in your lovely space! Thank you for sharing!

This episode was super satisfying! Little SG with her baby butt hopping steps with the cat, fine tuning that part of the garden, moving beautiful things. That secret spot by the chicken coop has always been one of my favourites, the pallet walkway past the girls and all the lovely plants

Been working hard this week getting my gardens ready for winter and I n true Laura fashion I ve been moving things that just weren t right in their space and planning future plantings in groups. Also working on my 4 seasons of interest! Thank you for what you do!

I just planted four (next season) glorious roses and the instructions said not (in big bold letters) to add anything but manure as fertilizer, even if it is in potting soil, would burn the roots. Are you worried about biotone burning the roses you transplanted?

Good morning Laura and family! Everybody working hard on this video! Could the climbing roses go out on the fence with the honeysuckle near the orchard? Or on the fence in the dirtland where you already have water ran for the trees? Hugs from N. C.

Good morning GA friends from SC. Laura, when pruning your wisteria, do you follow any protocol on how many nodes to leave for next year's blooms? I've read conflicting info on how much to prune back. Thanks. Your enthusiasm is contagious!

You are daring baring your arms around those roses (unless they are thornless. I have so many wounds on my arms from transplanting 4 roses this year. Douglas sure gives Russell a run for his money when it comes to photo/video bombing!

Good morning! I always love cleaning up planting areas in the Fall. Everything looks buttoned up and neat. I have very few places to clean up this year because my planting area is new and smaller.

I'm moving to another state next year. I am taking shrubs and other plants from my garden. Are there any tricks to keeping them alive in pots? They might need to live in pots for a year or so.
reply

Hi I thought I would ask if you would think of putting those roses in the new border on the new property. I had thouht of that when you were planting the other trees in the last video.

Samantha is so cute jumping on the stepping stones. When do you start decorating for Christmas. With all the land that s a lot of work. Any plans to light up the pond area? Enjoy the day.

Wisteria is considered a noxious weed where I live. It looks pretty when blooming, but the roots, and vines are awful to deal with and it is a never ending battle. Not worth growing.
reply

I really struggle with my Wisteria - no blooms since I planted it blooming a few years ago. It s growing like crazy just not sure how to trim & get it to bloom. Any pointers?
