I talk about how to stay warm at night in cool fall weather including a toque, long pants, long shirt with hood and double sleeping bags. With the sun coming out and weather improving I go grab some bass for breakfast and get into a jumper. Next I talk about how I start a fire that works well in Norther Ontario which does not include feather sticks, but rather small dead branches with birch bark, graduating up to larger sticks, and finally logs from dead standing trees. I also talk about why I don't bother carrying a saw. Finally I offer some tips on how to cook over a fire

Great video series. I thought you were crazy when you said Americans call a knitted cap a toboggan. I have lived and traveled throughout the states and never heard anyone call a watch cap, or beanie a toboggan so I googled it and it turns out your right. Just so you know, in MN it is a hat or cap. Keep up the great videos.

Looks like an amazing getaway. It must be a nice feeling to be where few have gone before. These types of places seem to be hard to come by these days. Nice find!
I just saw the 1st episode of Alone Season 2 (Making the cut. Wow, over 3, 500 applicants. Looks like you're well on your way to making it onto Season 3.

What is your opinion of standing dead trees sitting in a bay or pond edge? I usually see dozens of them. Easy to get in winter but tricky to cut from the water in a boat. is it worth harvesting or waste of time in your opinion?

Perch was -wormy. - Never ever seen any Pacific Northwest infected fish. would be really worried about that lake needing to be sterilized and reseeded with fish.
