Thanks for sharing the story. It's neat to vicariously tag along in the adventure. I appreciate the frankness in your messages, and how you present the trip realistically. You're not too proud or ashamed to show the footage with struggles or trials. There are so many fishing shows that are shot at some expensive, catered lodge way up north, and the footage in the shows is heavily edited to only show the glories. Other -reality- shows over-dramatize or stage fake incidents. I appreciate your passion and drive to take on a real challenge without ATV / snow machine. I too have tried to bushwhack to find unpressured wild trout lakes (outside Algonquin and south of the boreal. I've failed mostly, and it is really hard to find someone willing to bushwhack-portage, especially with uncertainty involved. In my younger days many simplistic maps misled me into imagining pristine lakes without cabin, ATV or snow machine access. And of course, I-ve met up with my share of float planes too. Anyhow, keep up the exploring! You do well with the experience, modest equipment, and skills you have.

my parents would force me into the woods, they take me to the cottage for weeks every summer with no friends there I was forced to learn what there was to do. explore. build forts. try trapping, i was never sucessful. i did find a dump that had bear traps, a fish farm with many bear traps. many creeks. found an old mine one time, but didnt go in because of the warnings and no experience. i stopped going soon as i was old enough because it was forced. looking back i miss it so much.
good time ahead, Brother. I can't wait for my son to ask me for a wilderness living style trip.

Hi Woody: Our earlier discussions become much clearer, you have gone through a valley of decision & come safely out the other side. I also realize why I can get such enjoyment out of my solo canoe trip each September. All my children are grown up & one does not see grand children more than twice a month. In other words age has made me independent without even consulting me; neat. I've enjoyed each of the 14 episodes & the thinking they have required from you & me Thanks again Brian nearing 76

As much as I love being out in the bush for a long period of time, you can't beat the feeling of getting home sitting back and relaxing. The outdoors really makes you appreciate the basic creature comforts of 21st century living. great series buddy looking forward to some more videos as spring settles in!

gd story about you, your dad and everything. i'm not seeing your brother out with you. we've had 2 funerals this year. brothers and both said they wished they spent more time out with me. now they're gone. do me a favor. tell your brother i said i would like to see him out with you on videos. thumbed up.

Nice video looks like a very secluded lake. Showing video of the shoreline will sometimes give the location away to other brookie hunters i can tell shoreline pics when other people fish the area i fish. Some people post fire pit shots and trees that have been burn't so its a give away of the location.
