This will probably be downvoted to hell so you probably won't see this but I want to share my opinion, and why this video bothers me a little.
First off, it is true that in modern times, masculinity is at a disadvantage compared to earlier times. There is a lack of positive male role models. This may in some part be due to the fact that now there are fewer men who occupy positions of influence and celebrity. We are slowly approaching equality in terms of numbers of men and women in these positions. But it is also a result of wider cultural changes where men are having to adjust their behavior because of a focus on women's rights in the last few years.
The #metoo movement and other similar campaigns have really put a lot of scrutiny of men's behavior in workplaces and in society. This attention has been disproportionate at times, but there are good reasons as to why the movement happened. It happened because women have a history of being the victims of harassment and violence. Now with the pushback against that, men have been under much more scrutiny and pressure to modify their behavior because of that. The recent calls for the stop against violence towards women is not an attack on men, it is simply a rejection of violence towards women. I, as a man, am 100% willing to stand up and condemn violence towards women. And I am willing to be part of a solution that works to eliminate that. That is a necessary step in healing the division between men and women in society.
We know that there are also times when women have done horrible things to men. But what #metoo showed us was that there was a large culture of harassment and violence towards women in certain environments (corporate, entertainment and political especially. That is a problem we should work together to fix.
As for personal relationships and gender roles, I completely agree that each gender may have certain things we are better at. There may even be historical and cultural connections which connect each gender to certain jobs. But shouldn't it be up to the individuals themselves what they want to do with their lives? The only limit to what you can accomplish should be your own limitations, right? So why not let women do what they feel like doing, just as we men will choose our professions, our hobbies, and how we spend our time?
Regarding Gillete's ad: I'm just gonna say that not all masculinity is toxic. Masculinity is, and should be, a part of the male identity. However, there are some things in traditional male behavior that maybe aren't so great, and we could work on improving. Is all masculinity toxic? Of course not. But some certain behaviors might be characterized that way, and I think working on improving that behavior might be a great and important step towards healing the divide between men and women and helping more young males finding and defining their identities.
At the end I'll encourage you to keep making videos and to keep making content, being a role model for young men. Most men are not lucky enough to have the experience of building something in their young lives. Having that experience, at least partially, through you, is definitely valuable. As a kid I helped my dad build a cabin similar to yours, and it was definitely a rewarding experience I'll always remember. I'm getting to relive that experience now watching your videos.

I was taught by my mother AND father that you throw yourself, without hesitation, between any danger and women and weaker persons. My household was also mainly female with a VERY quiet dad. The subject that women could not do anything that a man can do was never even thought about. On four occasions I have heard a woman scream. I followed my childhood teachings and intervened. Every time the woman turned on me.
In another life, long before this current war on terror I was something. A something that resulted in me going hundreds of miles deep into enemy territory alone. I witnessed atrocities that still give me nightmares. Some of those atrocities involved women and I could do nothing but watch and record as I had an old SMLE. 303 and there were at least fifty enemies. But this I can say; I tracked those Hyenas (that was the NATO call sign for them back then) and elements of 40 and 42 Commando, 2 Para and various Aussie, Kiwi and Brit SAS units made sure those hyenas never did it again. Ever.
Respect women and work together. Our number one priority IS kids. They are our future.

My only complaint is that some people do just want to go live alone in the wilderness and not just as a problem to escape something that they should be addressing. Other than that, spot on!
As an example, around 12 years ago I was in a car accident that utterly changed my life though I didn't realize it at the time. I had nerve damage to my trigeminal and occipital nerves that I was entirely unaware of for the first year after the accident since it took that amount of time for the morbid regrowth and healing of tissue to form in such away that I started suffering from what is known as trigeminal & occipital neuralgia. I can't even begin to properly describe the pain that I began to experience. It destroyed my relationships with people. It destroyed my lifestyle and then work environment.
Anyway, I won't write a book of a comment but 12 years later it has taken everything in me to rebuild myself and this reinvented version has become exactly the kind of person that wishes to build and live in a remote landscape to live out the desires that I have. and not as an escape from people.

The biggest thing stopping me from succeeding or going out on my own right now is just motivation.
I don't really feel a need to do anything more than what I currently do, I'd like too, sure, but I constantly feel like the headache it would take to go out and do something like reaching out to other people, especially with how insulated my lifestyle is already, and especially with how apathetic most people tend to be, it just feels like a mistake.
I don't exactly like the path the world is going down either, but I see why its happening, and I don't think that apathy and ignorance can be solved with logic or reasoning, its gonna take a complete and utter collapse of civilization, or the reasonable people to finally stand up and say enough is enough and take their homes back, because thats just the way people are, they'll only step in and do something once it effects them, and I can promise you that it won't start to effect you in a meaningful enough way until its far, far too late to turn back.

Well spoken points, even though the words had to pass through your toxically masculine facial hair! The problem I think, is more the fact that a huge multi billion dollar company chooses to step outside of neutrality and insert a biased opinion in which 2/3rds of their consumer audience is labeled as offensive, immoral, and unfit. There is a poison trying to infiltrate society with engineered hate and bias. Movements, that in no way reflect the whole of society, or even a small dark corner, push bias towards normality, religion, gender, etc. The engineered intent, is that we should all change the majority to suit the desire of the even less than minority involved, based on their warped view of our morality. Hollywood-s biggest names voice their two cents as though they are a bastion of righteousness. Athletes protest and make long winded speeches, as though their millions made playing games somehow serves to establish them as an expert. The sad part comes when people actually start to listen.

Men must mentor other men and also seek mentors for themselves. I think reasonable, confident and secure women, understand or at least respect the need for men to be with other men and do constructive things together. But men must also nurture their relationships with their wives so that they can feel confident and secure about their man and his commitment to his wife or girlfriend.
I feel that building is a great and important thing for a man to do. It is in our nature.
Men, build something. It doesn't have to be a house or a cabin
If you aren't sure what to build or how to go about it, seek out other men and help them on their project. It is extremely satisfying, which should be a big clue about the nature of men.
Men build the nest. Women feather the nest.

But in today-s political climate, they-re taught from an early age that in order to feel respected, they must strive to compete with men in all things. This not only deprives us of the hugely important feminine input into day to day living, but encourages many men to ignore their part in providing their equally important masculine role in society. It is absolutely right that women should command the same respect as men. Most men who attempt feminine roles don-t generally succeed very well and vice versa. Both genders are only of equal value when they embrace their natural abilities. Modern feminism is just as harmful to society as misogyny.

All of these problems can be solved very simply. We just need men to stop being brainwashed to behave like women, and we need women to stop being brainwashed to behave like men. That's the dynamic that nature created, and that's the dynamic that built every great civilization in history. The breakdown of our natural gender roles precedes the breakdown of civilization. Ever notice how the people who advocate for the destruction of traditional gender roles almost always hate western civilization? It's not a coincidence.

I'm one of those males working in an environment that is not typical of men, I work as a kindergarten teacher and I couldn't agree more with you man! As a man in a highly female dominated workplace I truly see the differences. We are truly wired differently, and just because my job requires me to focus more on my sensetive sides when it comes to caring for children it doesn't mean that I should be used as an example for the fact that men and women are identical. We are different in so many ways and we have different methods of contributing to the society/community we live in and we should embrace that.

Dude, You touch some of the modern society greatest issues. Anyhow. If it was as simple as You suggest there would not be any issue. The basic modern time problem is that we do not address the the feelings and needs of individuals. This IS modern times and the genetic -burden- that we have have not yet evolved to level of modern times. Anyhow, i see lots of light in Younger generations and how they address this. it just will take a bit of more time. And until then, Me and You will continue to suffer, as MEN, and billions of others. Luckily, there is evolution: ) Just take care, continue to be a man.
