In day 5 of this survival series we try again for a spring turkey to turn into a meal. Zach builds a bushcraft table and we dig into our food spoils collected so far. I'll boil up some cattails and eat alewife which we netted earlier in this season. Lobster is also a staple item in this adventure so we check our traps again to see if we'll eat or not. I will show you how to prepare, clean, and cook porcupine in a very simple stew. We also are looking for other wild foods like turkey as it is the spring season. We do manage to get a red squirrel in a catch and cook which we add to our smoked fish. The goal is to replace any calories we burn foraging for wild foods in order to balance our energy expenditures as modern foragers. We bait our lobster traps with alewife or river herring which we dip netted the day before. This is all about survival and eating the foods that we can easily forage and scavenge from wild sources. We are really trying to balance our calories eating only wild edibles

I'm kinda confused? It seems like the order of the episodes got mixed up or something? In the previous episode you guys got a turkey, but in this episode I get the impression that you guys haven't caught a turkey yet? Is it just me that's not getting the timeline here?

Full stop and to and we your question yes I'm watching the pond series and cabin series. Great work! Maybe next year you should plant a small garden at the location where you plan on filming nothing big just something like a pallet garden. Justc a thought.

I buy I to this challenge however I don't think you have enough people to make it feesable. IF you do another season maybe try to get 4-5 people to participate if you can this would allow the devision of chores and tasks

19: 40 Never, ever forage along roadways, launch ramps, marinas, etc. because of the toxic waste from the vehicles (autos and boats) gets onto and soaks into your food.

Not hokey pokey. I'm pretty sure that if every human had to live like that 75% of us would die. Thank you for what you do.

This is a moron! Do not follow his ways of over harvesting. He makes me sick! He has food going to waste.
