That
That bit of -spruce- at 28: 34 looks like a caddisfly case to me. Caddisfly larvae take bits of detritus (twigs, pine needles, tiny stones, etc) from the bottom of the waterways they live in, and they produce a glue like substance to seal the bits together. They will build these to protect themselves until they can pupate and move on to their adult forms. Caddisflies are a major food source for trout in many water bodies, and it's not uncommon to find caddisfly cases in the stomachs of trout.

Ha ha. love it. It worked. so why give advice. Because, I can't help it. I'm thinking lay the log down with the trap to the back. That way the rod is straight up. The fish will be pulling perpendicular to the trigger, making it more sensitive. That was a hoot. I love it.

Maybe if you find a way to put more initial angle on the arrow, you will get more vertical travel in the trap and set it off more easily. Right now, it seems there's a good amount of horizontal pull, which is in the wrong direction to trigger the trap.

Dip your dough bait in the water on the hook and pull it out to let it dry for a minute or so and it will hold better on the hook. The fish will have to fully comit to eat the bait.
Thank you for you videos brother

I tried that with slightly heavier line, and a minnow no bobber, it actually caught me the biggest crappie I've ever landed lol. 18 inches. This video was very amusing and it was a great idea. Thanks chris, and everyone

We can-t bait. We-d be tossed in the pokey! 1000. 00 fine and u can-t hunt area for 30 days after bait is removed. but u can hunt a apple tree or a food plot. or a corn patch left be hind for deer. no salt blocks.

Hatchery trout are not as smart as the wild trout I don-t know if that makes a difference but when they-re use to being fed versus feeding in the wild it-s different.

I think it-d work better if you notched out the log to take the trap/arrow in the upright position? Then 45 a screw through the trap into the log to secure it.

honestly when i saw fishing with a rat trap i figured you would be using the trap to catch the fish not just to set the line haha
