Thanks for this you two. I love the idea of a cornflake coating, looked really good out of the oven too. I will be nicking that and the four cherries in the poaching method. Try throwing a doz or so dried capers and a half teaspoon of tarragon, once they mix with the cherry tom and lemon juice, the taste will take your head off. remember to soak the salt out of the capers first though. Keep posting John and family, this is such a good 'waste' of half an hour. Me and my boy are River men who dream of sea fishing. you can't eat Barbel and my boy would give me down the banks if I suggested we take a 4lb Zander to the BBQ. so we dream of the Welsh Coast round Cardigan Bay and go over to Filey as often as we can. The Jurassic East Coast of your youth mate, birds, fossils and fresh fish. roll on Spring!

Ok, I am so sorry I'm being a pest and commenting on alot of your videos. And you are being so nice and giving me a comment back. But I am just going through your videos now cause I enjoy them so much. And what a nice surprise this one was. You have Amazing skills with those fish! Fileting them. It was so nice to see your wife do the cooking with different ideas. Using corn flakes instead of bread crumbs is brilliant!

Another great video. Theirs no end to ur talents. Even got ur fabulous Mrs involved. I have cooked pollock much the same way but longer at a lower heat to save burning the bread crumbs. I also ad Chipotle Chilli medium to the bread crumbs before cooking and my Mrs love's it. -But must say ive never tryed the cornflakes so I will be giving that ago. Well done to you both. -

watching the filleting was fun. bon appetit
edit: cornflakes are the main choice in the US. but some of us use panko its the same thing KINDA but from asia and more savory less sweet.
edit2: i would also eat the lemon all the sour would have left and been instead made into sweet sweet fishy goodness

Impressive! I am surprised at how good the aluminum foil fish looked. I have used lemon with aluminum foil on other things and the acidity basically dissolved part of the foil and turned everything a dull gray aluminum color. Maybe I used more lemon than that? I don't know.

Your Knife skills are bang on 10 out of 10. The years i've been a Chef that's the first time i've ever seen any fish coated in a cereal. Nowt wrong with being original [ improvise adapt and overcome ]. Am intrigued how that tastes. Am going to try that in work

Just a quick tip from a seasoned chef. Foil has two sides, one very shiny and one not so shiny. When cooking face the shiny side towards the cooking item (fish) as it is more reflective and will cook the item (fish) quicker and more evenly.
