Anyone following our channel may know of PINCHEY THANOS. A giant lobster we found whilst coastal foraging in early 2020. We had wanted to donate him to the Lobster Hatchery to aid in the conservation of the local Lobster population. Covid restrictions meant that we could not do that so when we received a donation to our channel I decided we should do something good with the money. We had a brilliant visit to a local shellfish merchant showing wonderful healthy lobsters, Crawfish/crayfish, Scallops and Oysters and then rescued a Monster Lobster from the cook pot and donated him to the lobster hatchery in Padstow. A fascinating visit where we learn about the lifecycle of the lobster and about the conservation efforts being made in Cornwall. Many thanks to Mark, Chris and Ben for their help and I hope you all enjoy joining us. Here is the link to Falcatch. If you enjoy great quality shellfish or are interested in trying shellfish for the first time I can think of nowhere better to get it. Here is the link to the Lobster Hatchery in Padstow. It truly is an incredible place and if you are in the Padstow area it is definitely worth a visit. You could even adopt your own baby lobster via their website

In 2020, a rare blue lobster was saved from being boiled alive in Akron, Ohio USA after being delivered to a Red Lobster Restaurant. The employees got together to save it, and got in touch with the conservationists at the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California. Long story short, the blue lobster gained a home in the Komodo Kingdom Building at the Akron Zoo, where it will live out the rest of its days being taken care of, never to face being eaten by some greedy human. That blue lobster at the beginning of this clip should have been given the same consideration, considering how rare the coloring is.

I remember seeing massive indoor stone tanks in the 70's, down in Cadgwith cove and the floor of them being covered with huge those crawfish. They were being held ready to go abroad for sale, via Newlyn. My uncle enquired with the local fisherman if they were sustainable and they thought they were at the time. They then disappeared faster than a barrel of free beer. It is mad that they are still being caught commercially. I really hope they do get the chance to make a full recovery.

I've been sick a long while and I missed so many videos so I'm sat in bed catching up on them all. I was wondering if I could find where you would tell us what you used the donation for since you said when I sent it you knew exactly what to do with it. If this is it, it's fantastic! Much love to you and yours, John!

I don't know how Cornish lobster's differ from lobsters from the Gulf of Maine except they look very different to me. The Maine lobster looks much stouter. We once cooked a Maine lobster that weighed about 4. 5 kilo (right at 10 pounds) and it was awful eating. No reason not to throw them back as far as I'm concerned.

Thank you! Absolutely incredible! Here in Indian Bayou, Louisiana ( way down South) We farm raise crawfish ( fresh water ) in rice field-s after rice is harvested. Very rarely we have the blue ones like your beautiful Lobster. But they are tiny compared to ( Mobster Lobster Tony

My hubby and I really enjoyed this video. Learned a lot about lobsters. Originally from Massachusetts and spent a lot of time on Maine coast. Similar conditions to your area. Thx for sharing. Your BEST video yet! Oh, and well be adopting a lobstah( as they say in Maine)

Once again another cracking video. Superb filming and editing. I think I recognised the dealers. We-re they in St Agnes? We had a holiday there 3 or4 years ago in a cottage just down the road from them! Beautiful fresh Cornish fish! Yum!
Keep up the good work John.
