I had a couple of scallops in my lunch today. I had the best seafood basket I think I've ever had! A nice big piece of battered fish (could have been flake (gummy shark) or possibly baramundi) with some kind of cumin seasoning underneath the batter, 2 battered scallops (cooked to perfection, 3 big strips of crumbed squid, I'm assuming local because it was super fresh and tender, a pair of prawns that had been char grilled and beer battered chips with a side salad! One way to celebrate your 40th birthday at least! And I found out they're on Menulog, so will definitely be getting takeaway from there again!

Dunno if you fly fish but I've had huge fun with the fly in areas like where you found your cockles on an incoming tide at night. Fishing the shallow gullys for flatfish with a fluffy crab imitation.
I'm stunned that you can find scallops like that, was it an exceptionally low tide?
I should be cooking tea, too. Must shuffle off, thanks for the great vid.

Question for you! We have a warm salt water fishtank (26c) with anenomes, hermit crabs etc etc, are the guys you find the same species but just more tolerant to the cold or is there a whole different type that lives in cold salt water? A cold salt water tank with a few invertabrates might be interesting.

John, I absolutely love the cook ups at the end. Doesn't matter to me if it's on the beach, Spargo's Kitchen, or The Fish Locker Kitchen. Always makes me so hungry. Lol. Love everything you do and love the family. From Wilmington, N. C. USA

I wish you delivered to Sheffield, bit far I know but Jim's cooking skills and your foraging are a fantastic combination. I have learned a new way to cook cauliflower and scallops so thank you, again everything looks completely delicious.

You are so knowledgeable. If I may ask do you have some sort of formal education in marine biology or are you self taught? Maybe knowledge passed down? Either way love your vids. I find them so interesting and relaxing.

When I saw that sand star, I immediately thought of Patrick Star from Spongebob - Those scallop shells also look absolutely beautiful. I'm jealous. I want to use one as a dish for some African Dwarf frogs I'm gonna get.
