Small Boat fishing in Autumn and Winter can be hard work. Finding weather windows is often the name of the game. This was a beautiful sunny day but hard conditions and hard fishing. So it doesn't help matters when sea monsters crash the party! Our fishing day was cut short by a broken down vessel in need, so I did what I hope others would do and towed them back to safety

Shame about that tuna -, I've had a couple of friends had similar things happened, fish of some sort taking a whole mackerel bait and just stripped a couple 100 yards of line b4 pinging off I wouldn't assume it was a tuna but big and very fast with power that's not like anything hooked b4, if it was a shark's I don't think it would have taken such an amount of line I reckon it would have bitten through after a few feet of running on 30lb mono, I don't know I'd like to know but these are -The old ones that got away! - We'll just never know!

? Would a 20lb bass have stripped you off. Reason I ask is a friend recently got what he estimated to be 20lb to the net and net snapped under the weight. Then netless he lost what he estimates was 15lb, er. Then finally landed one around 10lb. . Think he possibly fishes Plymouth way. .
Next thing have you considered getting a bow mount gps trolling motor. Would be able to dispense with anchor and even control your drift speed direction etc. . I have brought one to fit to front of my hobie.

Well done, John, can't catch loads of fish every trip. Wouldn't be such fun if you could. My tame charter skipper, after a good days fishing in August with us on board rescued a boat about the size of the one you towed. Had a worried little family onboard. He rigged up, with not much help from us, the same 2 point tow, and as we got closer in, a side by side tow with a spring line. As you say, calmness is the key. Well done.

Whether you catch everything or next to nothing (very rarely, you're always at the center of your videos. It's not the instruments or the screens speaking but a real and engaging description of what's going on above and below the waterline. I may never go wreck fishing again, particularly here in Paris, but your videos are every bit as interesting just the same.

I've been a carp angler for over 40 years but recently I'm becoming a bit disillusioned by it all, my mate has recently bought a boat and watching your videos has really inspired me to have a go. Excellent to watch and very informative.

Hi John, what type of rods are you using there, are they a heavier spinning rod or an up-tide boat rod. I haven't had the chance to get out this year 2021 but watching your films keeps me from going insane. Keep up the great films.

Eargh god how can you handle that movement! I went out in totally still conditions once and was still sick and dizzy. Just seeing the horizon moving on the horizontal plane was enough for my body to think I'd been poisoned.

You may have only got one very nice fish but you will not forget the day due to saving a sailor from being stranded. You have a party story to tell after all. So you got something out of the day.

I was watching your live video yesterday. I noticed that people were donating. Well I have to say I may be blind but I could not find out how to do it. I clicked on everything I could see.

Hello from Utah, USA. you are so easy to watch. I love how you explain the vegetation, the sea life, and the safety features you follow. I always look forward to your next video.
