Coastal Foraging along the low tide line can uncover so many incredible things. Amazing sea creatures and delicious treats. Join me on the shoreline collecting many different delicious clams and shellfish, rock pooling amongst wonderful sponges and nudibranch. I then demonstrate how to clean and purge the shellfish before taking you to Spargo's kitchen on St Piran's day for 2 incredible seafood dishes. A homemade Clam Chowder and a Clam Pasta sauce dish

I've been fishing 37 years now and when you do these foraging videos I see something I've seen on my own local beach but I had no idea what it was, we do have a good amount of selfish but I had no idea how many species of clam and welks etc it's great to know what I can eat and usually what we like to eat the fish will enjoy aswell.
One thing I do is when I do go down foraging for muscles limpets rags and rock lug at low tide I'll go back and cast over the same areas I was digging earlier cuz as the tide comes in the fish forage in those areas and its served me well in the past especially with big wrasse.

I absolutely love your videos, I have severe PTSD and sometimes I feel so detached from reality, however watching your videos i feel grounded, safe, and so relaxed. And although I'm not sure where you're from I know you can also do this in Oregon and go clamming of sorts, but I find it so peaceful thinking about the future of my kids and how I want them to grow up like you did and now your lovely son, surrounded by peaceful nature a keen sense of curiosity and an amazing positive attitude!

I recently saw a video ( might have been the other seafood cook from Padstow -) and he was in Spain I think it was and he had a sort of tomato sauce with Dogfish in it and it looked gorgeous. Has Mr S ever done anything like that? or could he come up with something like that. seeing as everyone seems to catch so many of the little buggers-

Hello from the Napa Valley, CA. I love your site and your obviously vast knowledge of sea life. Do you hold degrees in this area? Having whole family involved is great. I notice as you are scouring around looking for lunch, you don't mention the no-nos! LOL such as sea life that is dangerous, nonedible or down right poisonous if eaten.

My brother would have devouvered that in 5 min. Excellent food. It is so much easier to find shell and clams in southern waters. Up here in the polar north you just find the empty shells. Although we have a lot of cod, salmon and pollock. And more. Smoked cod and fried pollock never goes old. Much love from Norway.

Those pacific rock oysters are causing big declines of the flat oysters. Not only do they take habitat away from them, they are also a vector for a type of haplosporidian parasite that is absolutely deviststing to the flat oyster. Ive done some research on it and they are awful things

I'm nowhere near the sea (Minnesota, USA) but I'd like to say I'm eventually going to move to the west coast. Either way, nice videos man! Cool accent and there's something both refreshing and relaxing about watching you show and tell us about the sea creatures.

I live in cornwall, but have no idea which beaches to go to to find all this kinda stuff! I went to charlestown a few days ago with my 4 year old boy and found a few small crabs, but that was it! Any hints and tips from you would be greatly appreciated!
