SHALLOW SPRING CRAPPIES! My favourite time of year to catch them. Nothing beats seeing that bobber go down. If you have kids or newbies you're introducing to the sport of fishing. you should absolutely take them out for spring panfish! Such a great action filled activity. Thank you for all the support! I miss the days when my little southern manitoba reservoir was full of #slabdaddy. It's always been great for numbers but over the last several years the average size is way down. Last year was the first in a couple where I felt the average size inched up a little bit.

Hi Jay, It would be pretty cool to do a summer scuba video showing where the fish are. How cool would that be to see the underwater view of the magic tree or a rockpile that holds walley/lakers?

used a rod like that on the fraser river in BC to catch pike minnows to use as sturgeon bait, we had them rigged with a slip float like you had on your loomis. it's a fun way to catch fish.

Big crappie taste just as good as the little ones, I've eaten plenty of crappie in the 12-16 inch range. On the lakes I fish you can't keep any crappie that are less than 12 inches.

I do quite a bit of crappie fishing and i have found that darker fish often come from areas with more mud and silt bottom, and lighter fish from clay, and sandy bottom areas

Drove down to Manitoba from Alberta this winter. Fished the white shell park area for crappies. And wow was it fun. I want to go back in the summer with the boat now lol.

I got a 14 foot noodle rod i use all the time. Tie a Lindy Frostee Spoon to it and jig 1 inch off the side of stumps in late spring. Gets a lot of fish that are lure/line shy.

Those are awesome crappies!
A couple of weeks ago I was fishing walleye in a river and I went four fish for four casts, that was awesome! It's so much fun.

Hit up Brady Kingsland at Harvester Outdoors in Selkirk MB for those 35 Toad Pickerels on the lake. I'd Love to see a collab with him
