My first time fishing with my dad for bluefin, we fished on a charter for a full day spend lots of money and didn't even get one bite, when the Capt. said 'Reel em in my dad yanked his poll as if to pretend he got a hit and what do you know the line started screaming louder than I ever heard it. We followed it with the boat for a while and the Capt. said it is most likely a shark and we should cut the line. My father was not trying to here it. We sat the Capt. down and told him to keep quiet and no matter what the fish is at least we would be about to say we caught something other than bait. After about an hour and a half you can finally see the Bluefin Tuna foul hooked at the middle of his sharp hard boney tail. Everyone thought that catching and landing this fish would be a miracle but little did they know me and my dad and the other 4 guys that we invited on this trip caught bluefins in the canyons with our regular 27foot SportCraft Cuddy with twin Yamahas 250s,

Definitley american, 30: 30 throws away the gill plate with no respect and is clueless that the cheek meat on this tuna is worth more than the O-toro.
Its just Americans dont know shit, 20 years ago they threw away the belly flap of tuna just like this commercial fisherman threw away the gill plate. Now they sell the belly flaps as prized cuts a couple fishing generations later, you guys are way way behind the japanese when it comes to fish. No respect, just see dollars.

Now that is a fish, caught many of them myself while working in a longline commercial fishing boat, and even bigger but that is a very decent size almost as big as it gets, given the fact you used a rod amazing catch. Not up to date with current prices anymore but that used to be a thousand dollars fish at auction, thousands of dollars fish if sold directly to distributors or restaurants.

Viktor, That was Epic for yourself along with us watching it happen. Can't imagine how it would feel to land a fish that size. Great commentary, instruction along with knowledge. This was one of the best vids you've put out, Lucky man to be part of that catch, the tail is gonna look awesome mounted out on a wall.

This fishery is not sustainable with the international monetary bounty on these fish. Ridiculous space age technology/killing drag. I ALWAYS root for the tuna to escape in these videos. Boo Hoo, they are only getting $3-5/pound. 100 years ago, they called these horse mackerel considered no good to eat.

The only time I had smoked fish was smoked salmon at Estes park, they have farmer's market once a week before snow and one guy makes it. A local friend suggested and I tried only small sample, had a 1: 45 min shuttle ride to Denver and flight to NY, I should've bought some. I had doubts that it'd go bad

This beats any movie I've ever seen, I was spellbound.
I watched it on a large screen. During the fight I was yelling at the screen Oh Hell Yeah! Get Him! My Wife thinks I'm nuts.
I'm a fellow fisherman. My friend, you hit it out of the park on this one. By far the best video I've ever seen.

Oh I don’t think those numbers on Wicked Tuna are made up. Those fish go for hundreds of thousands of dollars in Japan. So who makes out like a bandit I saw one fish which wasn’t as big as this one sold for over $400, 000 at a Japan Fish Auction. $3 a pound, that’s Robbery

What a MONSTER. A fish like that Tag team is a must along with an experienced captain. Well done guys. With the cost of fuel and all the government regulations I’ll bet its hard to malpke a living doing the commercial thing. Wish I could afford to go on a charter fishing trip.

Sashimi-Grade Bluefin Tuna Regular price $33. 00 per LBS. Highest grade would vary from $75 to $275 USD. You (Scott) are selling for only $3. 00 per LBS and doing all the work with the added expenses! No wonder you're in the charter business!

I know this boat they fish commercial striped bass. In my opinion I don’t like when 50 year old men are still limiting on bass which is 15 per day on commercial day stick to tuna leave the bass to guys that actually need the money and charters.

Victor. First off great job. Man when your fighting a fish of that size and that value bro don’t feel the need to commentate about this and that. The fisherman here understand that you have to stay focused. Had me nervous the whole time.

It makes me so sad to hear you guys will only get three dollars a pound for it. fisherman work so hard, and unfortunately, there’s a lot of overseas competition that make it too competitive. I wish you guys many successful seasons to come.

Those Wicked Tuna prices aren't BS. I went fishing up in PEI in 19 and we got a #975 and they got $21 a lb. for that fish. What happened to the prices Killing a fish like that for under $10 lb is not worth the fish's life. Shame.

if youre an angler and you pay to charter fish a tuna this big, do you get a portion of the profits from the fish. or are you basically paying for their gas so they get a fish to sell for themselves and not you
