Kayak Fishing for Sharks & Jellyfish Attacks -- Australia Ep 2

The first day of fishing in Australia does not go according to plan, with multiple big fish lost and several sharks to the boat, including a sizable hammerhead for Warren. Then the day goes from bad to worse as Ivy Harris flips his kayak coming into the surf on the wrong beach. Marty and I embark on a rescue mission until the truck gets stuck in the sand in the middle of nowhere. Just when I think things can't get any worse, I fall victim to a jellyfish attack

Awesome Video and fishing.
The baby stingers are just Blue Bottles. Venture to Northern Aus. Region to meet their Deadly Cousins!
We use to jump on them and POP them as kids, they are OK when Dry, But when Wet, You may Regret.
Sand Flies & Bull Ants are more painful! As Are most of our lovely Australian Pets!
A lot of Non Australians are allergic to their toxin and it can cause death!
If People would only understand the REASON for Vaccination here in Oz.

Blue Bottles IN Aus!
Our Man 'O' Wars Are Huge and Deadly and you WILL know when you get the Stung by one of them, Most times referred to as Box Jelly Fish.
Fish from any Beach at night and when you Pull the fish in you usually get 1 or 2 Blue Bottles across the Face Swingin from your line.
They dont hurt much But some People are Allergic and will sometime Die from their Toxins.
Red Backs Of the Sea!

Those jellyfish stings had to hurt like hell. Back in '75 I stepped on a damn sea urchin messing around snorkeling in Ibiza. Hurt like hell. My buddy kept saying pee on it, pee on it! Got back to the ship and the Corpsman had me soak my foot in a tub of vinegar, which worked wonders, and I didn't have to piss on my foot. :)

Hey Rob when are you going to start fishing the Lightning Strike? I'm seriously reviewing the yak and looking for your reviews and applications on inshore fishing. If the fins recess the way it looks I think it's a great shallow water marsh yak for Reds and Specks around Galveston Tx to Louisiana coastal marshes.
lines!

That was a rough way to start out the trip. I dont know about jellyfish but I do know ( from first hand experience ) if you get stung by a sting ray you need to put the hottest water you can find on it. Nothing else works. You would pay to have someone Pee on you. Good luck with the rest of your trip

Well, if it wasn't back then it is now where the term Up shit creek without a paddle came from. There are many things in the ocean that can break those peddle pushers off. A take down paddle is a must to always have with you.

If it take two 2 by 4s and cut them to 10 inches give or 5ake 1/8 of a inch. And ratchet strap the board to your back tire now you have paddle tires that's what we do in Michigan with all those dam snow and mud.

Urinating on jellyfish stings will aggravate the area most of the time. I learned that was a myth the hard way. Always carry a bottle of vinegar or ammonia with you if there's jellies in the water!

Not much you can do for man of war stings. It's a different venom than what a jellyfish has. You basically have to alternate between acetominephen and benadryl and suffer.

Please don't eat her, she is a breeding female. The Australians you are touring with should know that and if they don't you need to tour with different Australians.
