Excellent video! I have a 2016 PA14 and have zero complaints. even as I struggle to load and unload from my F150. I hear some negative comments from owners of competitor kayaks, most in the pedal drive class. They should thank Hobie for setting the bar that the rest of the market has tried to reach. I am a big guy and fish mostly out of Grand Isle, Louisiana for 8 hours plus with major comfort in the vantage seat, sometimes in turbulent waters close to the Gulf of Mexico. I am also saving for a second PA14! The ingenuity of Hobie products make them well worth the cost. Looking forward to what the future brings for the next versions of the mirage series.

Irony is such a funny thing. The plastics in these boats are destroying marine ecosystems and air quality all over the world. That plastic sand you were touching is created using some extremely toxic chemicals. I have seen first hand the destruction plastic manufactures have caused right here in your home state of Texas. I live 35 minutes from one of largest plastics producers in the world. Check out Dirty Money on Netflix. Formosa Plastics. Point Comfort, TX.

Want to have a look at my Revo13 brand new I bought a week ago?
You forgot to install the protective tube on one scupper! It was my fish Hobie so I though that was as it, but the I realized I got a defective unit.
I thought Hommer Simpson was the responsible of QQ'S the day they made mine. I can't believe how they can make such a mistakes like my unit.
If you want me to share the pics or vids let me know and I'll gladky share it with you as well

My next kayak will be PA14. The history wall was great I even lived some of it myself (old guy lol) no promo or demo boat to offer you? Where is the love? Obviously they are unaware of whom they have captured. Thanks for taking me to the Hobie factory RF I feel bad I didn't get you anything. Better come to the Ozarks and collect guest room and beverages. Over.

Very interesting video. I see that they gave you a very nice tour of the facility. Little did they know that you would be producing a kayak which is a direct legal copy of their mirage drive unit. I think you have been holding too many fish. for it seems kind of slimy to me. What is sad, is that they seemed to be very hospitable to you.

i have yet to purchase a kayak, when that time comes will i be able to get a Hobie kayak in iowa? these look sick, and knowing that the warehouse is playing Cumbias in the backround. good work is getting done! haha, anyways, yea, i would like to know if thats possible in the near future. thanks and great video Rob fish on!

Thanks for this video man, I don't feel AS bad about shelling out the extra money now for my 2017 Outback after seeing all the work that goes into it. As you mentioned in the video, I was one of the ones that assumed it was all automated. Good to know its all made here too.

Hey Robert: Thanks for the factory tour! I work in mechanical engineering and have visited factories worldwide. Craftsmanship can be found worldwide. I often see TOOLING as the differentiator between brands when it comes to price/quality/features etc.

When I was a mere lad in the 70s my mom and I went to a Goldblatt's in Chicago. She entered us into a contest to win a Cat. We were one of twelve to win the Barbie Cat. Used it with my GI Joe action figures. Never did win the Hobie Cat.

Hobie is the Cadillac of kayaks for sure. My only issue with the mirage drive is I kayak in shallow depth natural springs which would not allow me to use it. One day though I will have a Hobie. Thanks for the factory tour!
