The only downside to a 14' yak for off-shore is the risk of telephone poling in the surf, where your nose dips after a wave and hits a sand bar. It happens a lot more often with longer boats, and it will catapult you out of the boat. But the 14' is awesome! Part 2 of my offshore trip should air by the end of this week, so stay tuned.

Bulls on Parade!
Nice video editing, very enjoyable to watch, no wasted film in the video. I was down in Matagorda Bay a few weekends ago, did ok surf fishing, high winds. I'm from South Louisiana. I'm getting the PA 14 in a few weeks. I may bug you with a few go pro mount questions. Later

I REALLY enjoy a lot of your videos, Buuuut I wish you would cover what you're using, depth, structure where applicable, and BAIT. It's fun to watch the technique and the fish but I'm new to this and need to know more about best practices with the yak, anchoring, and what to use.

New orleans native here, those gafftop are some good eating and fight like hell. Would rather a day of catching them then not catching anything lol. Getting my first kayak in a week or so! Happy fishing Rob!

Sweet, let's go. My gf and I are going on her first fly fishing trip next weekend. :) gonna try something easy, the lights in the canals for specks and rat reds.

Yeah man, I was borrowing it from a friend. It's a 12. The 14 will be nicer once you're out there, but probably a little trickier getting out of the surf.

No, not always. Depends on how rough it is and what kayak I'm in. It's definitely easier though. just takes longer. I'm too impatient usually.

Caught them about 600 yards out off High Island near Galveston, TX. Near Rollover Pass. About 15' of water, fresh whole mullet on the bottom.
